Our Indigenous partners—the Achuar and Sápara people of the Sacred Headwaters region—have invited us to journey to the rainforest and learn from them so that we may carry their teachings and message home and share their dream of a thriving, just, and sustainable world.
They live interdependently with the forest and work with its plants for food, medicine, and shelter. In order to continue their way of life, they must protect this area and keep it free from extractive industries. By going on a Pachamama Journey, you support the Achuar and Sápara to continue as the guardians of the rainforest.

This collaboration led to two major achievements: The creation of the Kapawi Ecolodge, a sustainable tourism venture owned and operated by the Achuar, and the inclusion of Rights of Nature in the 2008 Ecuador Constitution.
