Meet Antonia Rock, one of the amazing student assistants behind the exhibit “Politics and Progress in the South Bay” which highlights over a dozen collections of Political Papers in SJSU Special Collections & Archives.
Antonia loved working on the exhibit but most of all she loved learning about the amazing women who guided the political landscape for the South Bay, like the the first woman elected mayor of San José, Janet Gray Hayes and her Vice Mayor Susanne B. Wilson or as Antonia refers to her, Suzie B!
Correspondence, photographs, memorabilia, artifacts, and campaign materials are among the selections of primary sources from the papers of Norman Mineta, Blanca Alvarado, Ken Yeager, Dianne McKenna, Mike Honda, Janet Gray Hayes and other political luminaries who have left an indelible mark on the region and country.

Let's honor Indigenous Peoples Day by sharing the resources has including, founded by students, the Africana, Asian American, Chicano, & Native American (AAACNA) Studies Center which amplifies underrepresented voices through its collections, programs, and shared community space.

Last December AAACNA partnered with the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe, whose ancestral lands San José State University now stands on and exibited "Muwekma Ohlone Tribe: Learning from the Past, Thriving, in the Present, Working for a Better Future."

This program will explore inherent algorithmic bias in AI models, and the dangers of relying on AI to make decisions and restrict the freedom to read.

Build your own AI chatbot with as little coding as possible! This workshop, which is based on the library’s new Kingbot GPT chatbot, will walk you through the steps to set up a simple chatbot that replies to questions based on a set of documents that you supply. No prior technical knowledge is necessary - all of the code and configuration help you need will be provided.
