Van Nguyen is a senior college student passionate about Motion Graphics, Video Arts, and Visual Design. She is pursuing a BFA in Digital Media Art and a minor in Graphic Design at SJSU. She is currently a Motion Graphic Design intern TH Experiential creative agency, as well as the president of CADRE Student Organization on campus. With her skills and experiences in collaboration, visual design, and social media marketing, she hopes to support SJSU and her work community's inclusivity and purposes while empowering her peers as well as collaborating with other passionate individuals.

SJSU Ceramics professor, Adam Shiverdecker, invites viewers to consider a central question: Where is the field of American ceramic art going? in his first major exhibition as curator, โA Dead Reckoning: Navigating Contemporary Ceramicsโ at the Pensacola Museum of Art. A Dead Reckoning brings together artists, who while sharing a common guiding fix in โclayโ, address a range of issues and clay processes that look to monumental scale, nature, consumerism, politics, and history.

Adrienne Defendiโs work explores the cyclical, the ephemeral, and the fragility of life. Her lifelong interests in memory and myth, narrative and nostalgia inform her photographic expression and artistic process. Adrienne lives and works in the Bay Area and is an MFA candidate in Photography at San Josรฉ State University.
Katharine T. Jacobs is a native Californian from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada who received her BFA in Photography from Oregon College of Art and Craft. Her interdisciplinary practice incorporates alternative photographic processes and sculptural techniques to explore themes of illness, disability and beauty. A single mother living with multiple sclerosis, Katharine is an MFA candidate in Spatial Art at San Jose State University.

Tosha Stimage is a multi-disciplinary artist who uses a variety of mediums to examine and reflect on the limitations of language. Her work focuses on disrupting the idea of isolated meaning. By consistently re-contextualizing material forms and histories she is able to challenge visual languages as an ongoing investigation of racial ideologies. This lecture is a constellation of evolving artworks, investigations and events around language and revolution in its present verb tense.
