The GSRC and GSA are organizing a community event post-strike. All graduate students, staff, administrators and faculty are welcome to RSVP. Message for info!

Do you know someone on campus who dedicated their time to service that focuses on improving graduate student experiences? Nominate them for the Dixon-Levy Service Award on our website until March 31st!

Each year, GSA honors dedicated educators at UCSB. Nominate a friend or colleague who is passionate about teaching. Nominations can be submitted on our website under “Awards” until March 31st.

Week 8 special events! We want to see graduate students outside in the sunshine this week. Join us Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!

GSA is holding special elections at the Nov 29 General Assembly at the GSA Lounge. If you are interested in the positions, reach out to [email protected]!

The first General Assembly is upon us on October 11th at 6PM! The GSA meets monthly with departmental graduate representatives and other graduate students to discuss campus policy, graduate student issues, and more. Come join us at the GSA Lounge or virtually! Only one day left until Bagel Hour is back! Come by and grab a bagel or coffee, and chat with your colleagues from 9AM to noon at the GSA Lounge. We are also having a few campus and student organizations present who’ll share graduate student resources!

July's Lunch & Learn, "Hazards and History," features talks by students in Environmental Science and English.

All grad students are invited to GSA Earth Day Lunch on April 27th at 12pm at the GSA Lounge. We will be serving veggie burgers and other healthy snacks. Come meet your fellow grad students and celebrate our beautiful planet! The lunch is first come, first serve.

We will also have a pop up by Thrive, Basic Needs at UCSB ! Come and hear about housing, financial, technology access, and food security resources tailored for graduate students.

Now's the time to cast your ballot in UCSB's annual Spring Election! All graduate students are invited to vote for the new GSA executive board & fee reaffirmations. Please find the candidacy statements and sample ballot language below. Ballots are due by Thursday, April 21 at 4pm.

Join us on Tuesday, March 29th, 12 - 1:30pm at the GSA Lounge for a lunch + info session* for those interested in running for the GSA board positions. Come have some delicious food from Kyle's Kitchen and learn about the executive board positions and ask questions about GSA elections.

- Quarterly stipend**! Co-Presidents earn $3,000 per quarter and $1,000 in summer; all other VPs earn $2,250 per quarter and $500 in summer.

**GSA positions are considered 0% appointments, so all international student-employees can apply.

UC Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara County Public Health Department are continuing their partnership to offer boosters for our local community on Tuesdays and Fridays through the end of February at Embarcadero Hall. AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE CHANCELLOR: "In consultation with other campuses, the Office of the President, our Academic Senate, campus health officials, students, and others in our campus community, and at the recommendation of the COVID-19 Working Group, UC Santa Barbara has decided to begin Winter quarter on January 3 with two weeks of remote instruction. In-person instruction will resume on January 18, subject to reassessment of the situation early in Winter quarter."

All graduate students are invited to join us for coffee and bagels to get through the last week of classes! Grab a bagel and other breakfast snacks* and meet your fellow grad students on Wednesday, December 1st 10am - 12pm at the GSA Lounge**!

The event is first come, first serve and grab and go only. Make sure to wear your mask and maintain social distancing guidelines. We can't wait to see you!
