Feliz Dia de la Mujer
While a lot of today will be spent honoring women who have made a significant impact throughout history, we wanted to take today to honor all the amazing women who have made significant impacts directly in our community and in our GSGLA council.
So, today, we honor the incredible leaders, volunteers, staff, mothers, caretakers, sisters, aunts, and more who have helped Girl Scouts in this council have the experience of a lifetime. Itโs because of incredible women like you that we can do what we do here. ๐
Have an incredible woman youโd like to acknowledge today? Send them a shoutout in the comments section below!

This month we are celebrating the women who have made a difference through their leadership and impactful contributions. ๐ ๐ธ Thank you to those who have come before and those who continue to inspire, push boundaries, and make history.
Five Ideas to Celebrate Black History Month with Girl Scouts Since 1912, weโve built girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
February is Black History Month! It is a special time of the year dedicated to the celebration of the history, culture, and the extraordinary contributions of African Americans.
Weโll be highlighting black women who have taken risks, sparked innovation, shared their voices, led with bravery, and paved the way for future generations.
And weโve created a Black History kit to add to your celebration! Itโs full of Zoom backgrounds, GIFs, social graphics, and cover photos for you to use on your accounts. Click the link below to download!

Hello Volunteers!
With a combination of happiness for her and sadness for us, I am writing to share that our wonderful Santa Clarita Shop Manager, Sharon Mcnally-Mobley, is retiring! Sharon was a girl member for 9 years and continued her Girl Scout experience as an adult by serving as a leader with her daughters. Her knowledge and passion for Girls Scouts continued with her position in our Santa Clarita shop once her girls aged out. And we have been so thankful to have her all these years!
Please join us in saying goodbye and congratulations by stopping by the GS shop this week on Thursday (1/12) or Friday (1/13), 10:00am โ 4:00pm (18316 Soledad Canyon Rd.
Santa Clarita, CA 91387).
If you are unable to come in person, below is a link to a group card to sign and send her well wishes. Please be sure to sign the card by 4:00pm on Friday so we can send it to Sharon.

We will certainly miss Sharon, and we hope you can wish her well on her future adventures with her family during her retirement. Thank you!

Dia de los mu***os.
Dia de los Mu***os (translates to Day of the Dead in English) is a traditionally Mexican holiday that reunites the living with the dead over a two-day celebration. Families create ofrendas (offerings) to honor their deceased friends and family members. These altars are typically decorated with photos of loved ones, papel picado (decorative paper banners), marigold flowers, calaveras (sugar skulls), and the favorite foods and drinks of those being honored.
Dia de los Mu***os is a unique holiday where mourning our lost loved ones is exchanged for the celebration of the lives they lived. Everyone can partake in these traditions, and here are some activities to get the whole family involved.
๐งก Cut papel picado for decorations
๐งก Create your own DIY sugar skulls
๐งก Put together a family ofrenda
๐งก Make paper marigold flowers
