Any person can meditate at any time they decide to. Their life will benefit and there are a variety of meditation methods available. With Naam, meditation is practiced through music and mantras, using the repetition of sacred sounds and the power of the Word.
NAAM stands for Neuro Activating Advanced Meditation. This does not mean you need to be an experienced practitioner, but rather that the results are advanced. Through sound, you can deeply meditate in a way that allows your mind, heart, and spirit to connect with Divine wisdom. This type of meditation can quiet mental chatter and clear obstacles.
Meditation is a chance for you to connect with your essence and the essence of the Universe â a chance to open your heart.

Expanding with Partnerships â¨
A highlight of our Partner Outreach Program has been the relationship with Cancer Support Community Los Angeles. Dr. Allyn Cioban has been teaching a weekly Naam class at their location, serving close to 100 people so far with breathwork, movement, and meditation since April. This has led to special events, new partners, and program growth.
In July, Cancer Support Community Los Angeles hosted an online lecture with Allyn, How to Thrive Through Unwanted Change. This free webinar included Naam breathing exercises, sound vibration meditation, and it increased awareness of her weekly Naam class.
Also this month, CSCLA added livestream access to Allynâs in-person sessions. This hybrid offering is now on Tuesdays from 10-11am PDT, on location at CSCLA and Online. Class is open to people having a cancer experience, whether it be their own diagnosis or supporting a loved one. Additionally, through CSCLA, Allyn was invited by Tower Cancer Research Foundation to teach Naam Breath, Movement and Meditation at their Cancer Survivorâs Day in June. This event served 30 students and she will teach another in-person class for Tower Cancer on Friday, July 26 from 12-1pm in Beverly Hills. Cardiovascular exercise brings important benefits to your heart by making it stronger and improving circulation. Using exercise as support, you can prevent and even reverse cardiac diseases.
Our brains also benefit from physical exercise. It can stimulate the creation of new neurons, improve the ability to process information, influence memory, and help us regulate our moods.
Regardless of your age, weight or physical fitness, exercise is important for health. Whether itâs taking a walk, practicing seated breathwork, or doing a class such as The Naam 5, movement is key to life.

Rhythm â¨
The heart represents your bodyâs rhythm. Your breath influences this rhythm. When the rhythm is balanced, it can help realign the rest of your body. Setting your heartâs rhythm is possible by using breath as a tool.
Conscious breathing exercises will help you modulate or modify your rhythm. A rhythmic technique â such as box breathingâ practiced for 7 minutes or more each day, can help. Here are the steps to follow:
Box Breath
⢠Inhale for count of 5
⢠Hold breath in for count of 5
⢠Exhale for count of 5
⢠Hold breath out for count of 5
You can increase the amount of time you work with each section. Keep in mind that the goal is to have each part last an equal length âso if you inhale for a count of 10, you also increase the other parts of the sequence to 10, too. This creates balance.

Hello July, a month for opening your heart â¤ď¸
One way to do this is to work with your heart chakra. Chakras are energy centers in your body located along your spinal column. Each chakra has specific functions connected to a certain area of our lives and a group of our organs.
Because of its central location, the heart chakra has a particular role as it allows connections to be made between the other energy points. When the heart chakra is open, it creates a flow between chakras.

Community Solstice Celebration â join us on Friday, June 21 for this free event in Santa Monica at Palisades Park. Weâll begin at 2pm with a special extended class taught by Dr. Emily Hoda. Sheâll lead us through movement, breathwork, and Solstice-specific meditations. This is a time to release the past and prepare for the future â¨
