Free Swim Lessons Alert at the Valley of the Sun YMCA.

To ensure everyone in the valley learns this essential life skill, we are excited to offer 1,000 free swim lessons to non-swimmers of all ages—from 6 months to adults, between August 5 and 31. Days and times vary by location, so please visit your local YMCA branch for more details on how to register. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to dive into swimming.

📢Have you heard? We are offering FREE Safety Around Water Lessons Desert Foothills YMCA sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Carefree, AZ for the whole month of August!

Starting August 6th we will have parent/child, pre-school, and school aged lessons from select times during 3:30pm-7:00pm Tuesday and Thursdays or 8:00am-12pm on Saturdays in August.

Spots are limited so please reserve your lessons today at our Welcome Center or by calling 480-596-9622

Our last load of clothes from the clothing drive made their way to housing at Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA! They informed us that for the last two weeks, everyone who has come in needing clothes have been helped thanks to your donations!

Our next instructor spotlight belongs to Susan! She has been with the Valley of the Sun YMCA for 26 years and is a great MOSSA Let's Move representative!

Thanks to our amazing community, we have received so many clothing donations for PHX350 and Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA that The Duo had to do an early drop off in a completely full Y bus! We will still be taking donations through June 9th if you have clothes and/or shoes for any genders 18+.

🛟Shout out to our newest group of Professional YMCA Lifeguards! We are so proud of you all for showing up, doing hard things, and accomplishing your goals to make Arizona safer this Summer!

Our second batch of bottled water has been picked up by Foothills Caring Corps! We will continue to collect water to make sure our community has what it needs! Thank you to everyone that has donated so far!

Cycle participants gathered together to celebrate some of our cycle instructors. Our members and staff truly create a community!

This Memorial Day, we pause to take the time to remember and honor those who have passed while serving our country.

We are closed today, but will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 28th for our regular business hours.

Foothills Caring Corps is in desperate need of bottled water, so with your help, we’d like to gather cases of water for our community! Please drop them off by the windows just inside the main entrance.

🦺Summer Safety Training⛑️

Yesterday our Desert Foothills Family YMCA staff got together and studied our Emergency Action Plan to help keep our youth, members, staff, and each other safer and healthier this Summer!

We are stronger together and at the Y we work as a team!

We are holding our summer all-staff safety training, so the pool will close at 1pm today. We will reopen for normal hours tomorrow.

We had our last senior potluck for the season at Light of The Desert Lutheran Church yesterday. Thanks to everyone who came out - potlucks will return in the fall!

We are still looking for summer camp counselors! Bring in your resume and get an interview on the spot. 🤖Today our leadership team took on EVIL robots in our escape room adventure! Cheers to an awesome group of big thinkers and plently of clues!

A HUGE congrats is in order for several of our instructors at Desert! Sharon, Deb, and Nat all received their MixxedFit certification today and Julia completed her first training as a national trainer! You ladies are AMAZING!

⛑️Safety Around Water Presentation ⛑️

Today our aquatics team taught our community about asking permission before getting into the water and how to float like a starfish! Tara B. read the books she wrote and illustrated in collaboration with Girls Scouts and The Y! We will have signed copies in our child watch areas!

We had an amazing time renting out a theater for Senior Movie Day at Harkins Theatres! We saw The Fall Guy and it got two thumbs up! Stay tuned for our next adventure!
