LSS Multi-Cultural Center

There is a pressing need for medical interpreters spanning hospitals, clinics, home care, and telehealth services. LSS Multi-Cultural Center's "Bridging the Gap" is a professional development course developed for both novice and experienced interpreters. Participants gain proficiency in medical terminology and learn strategies to navigate cultural and linguistic barriers in communication. Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to host Outlast Arts & Education, where they taught some amazing kids about film production and visual poetry. The kids wrote a collaborative poem and then created visual videos in groups to bring their words to life. We are especially grateful to the wonderful people who provided lunch donations, ensuring the youth didn't have to worry about meals while participating in this program. Huge thanks to Jesse from Hungry Hearts, Inkka from Swamp Daddies Swamp Daddy's Cajun Kitchen, Amber from the Mobile Market, and Rudy from Rudy M. Navarrete’s Tex-Mexican Catering.
