Food 4 Kids St. Tammany

Hey, F4KST family! We have a Pop-Up food distribution at Aldersgate United Methodist Church this Saturday, May 2nd from 9:00 am until 11:00 am! If you need food this weekend or know a family in need come by and pick up!! Also, if you or someone you know is unable to pick up or home bound (children, families, seniors) please message us to arrange a drop off.

Our board member Stacey Boerner was on the Lake 94.7 talking about Food 4 Kids and our drive thru bag pick up taking place tomorrow from 9-12 Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Slidell!

Today was busy! Stacey Boerner, Nick Richard, St. Tammany Parish Government, St. Tammany Health System, Delta College, Covington, LA, and St. Tammany Corporation all spoke about what they are doing right now. Hear them at lake947.com.

Some days our hearts are just overwhelmed with love and appreciation for the community we live in! TODAY is one of those days! TODAY is why we do what we do everyday! TODAY we distributed 408 weekend bags to families who indicated they needed the extra help.

Almost 400 Food4Kids bags packed to be distributed tomorrow for hungry kids. Thanks Suzie Hunt and family!

Food 4 Kids St. Tammany will be part of the STPPS Grab N Go feeding initiative on Fridays! We will be distributing bags of food to the children who need additional sustenance over the weekend. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Pick up volunteers will be picking up bags at a Slidell location and bringing them to the four High Schools (Pearl River, Northshore, Slidell, Salmen). They will be needed at 9:30 to have the bags at the schools for 10:30. We also need people to help distribute bags at the four locations from 10:30 - 1:00. Just to be clear the STPPS Grab N Go is every week day at all St. Tammany high schools from 11:00 - 1:00. F4KST is starting with the four schools on the east side of the parish this Friday. Another way to help us is to donate money! We want to make sure we can expand to the other side of the parish and continue to offer food to kids who are going hungry on the weekend.

As we all continue to navigate this new reality of being proactive in combating the community spread of , we know that the challenges- seen and unseen- will begin to arise as well.

One of those challenges that doesn't have to go without a solution is school-aged children not having enough to eat on the weekends while schools are closed for the next several weeks.

Food 4 Kids St. Tammany has been approved by St. Tammany Parish Public School System to continue its service for families in need at the Grab-N-Go sites during this unprecedented time for all of us.

We will be at the following locations beginning this Friday, March 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. handing out packages for children to have on the weekends:

Northshore High (100 Panther Drive, Slidell 70461)
Pearl River High (39110 Rebel Lane, Pearl River 70452) Salmen High (300 Spartan Drive, Slidell 70458)
Slidell High (1 Tiger Drive, Slidell 70458)

We hope to expand to the other four high schools serving Mandeville and Covington relatively soon.

Food 4 Kids St. Tammany will only be at the above locations on Fridays of each week during the Grab-N-Go food service times.

We would like to reach as many children in need as we can. We supply bags of non-perishable, child friendly food to children who don’t get enough to eat on the weekend. Teachers identify the children in need and we give the bags to the teachers to send home with the children on Friday.

These 4 weeks out of school could be very difficult for some children and families.
