Pinewood Porpoises Swim Team
The Pinewood Porpoise Swim Team is a summer recreational swimming program at the Pinewood Country Club in Slidell, Louisiana We compete each season in the St.
Our team consists of approximately 100 swimmers each summer ranging in ages from 5 to 18 years old. Tammany Parish Swim League (STSL). Our team has been competing in the Slidell area since the early 1970's against such teams as: The Cross Gates Gators, The Picayune Tide, The Tanglewood Tarpons, The Lakeside Gators, The Slidell Athletic Club Marlins (formerly Magnolia Forest Marlins), The Tiki Swim

The City of Slidell will be represented at the United States Olympic Team Trials!
Slidell resident Michael Bonson qualified for the trials, swimming a personal best time of 3:55.07 in the 400 meter freestyle (the qualifying time for the Team USA trials is 3:55.59). Michael will be competing on Saturday, June 15, in Indianapolis and Slidell will be cheering him on!
Michael is a graduate of Northshore High School and Auburn University, where he is continuing as a member of the swim team while pursuing a master's degree in Information Systems. He began his swimming journey with lessons from Barbara Ponson before joining the Pinewood Porpoises swim team. From there he moved on to the Hurricane Swim Club where he excelled under Coach Chris Prator and holds several state records. He also competed for Northshore High School where he earned high school All American Honors. He is a 3 time NCAA All American at Auburn University as well as team captain.

Our team has been competing in the Slidell area since the early 1970's against such teams as: The Cross Gates Gators, The Picayune Tide, The Tanglewood Tarpons, The Lakeside Gators, The Slidell Athletic Club Marlins (formerly Magnolia Forest Marlins), The Tiki Swim Club, The Huntwyck Tornadoes, The Buccaneer Villa Barracudas, and The Biloxi Red Tide. The Pinewood Porpoise swim team prides itself on having not only one of the top swimming programs in the Slidell area each and every summer, but also having the best family atmosphere combined with competition and fun.
