“One out of 6 veterinarians has considered su***de, according to studies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Female vets are 2.4 times more likely to die by su***de than the general population, and 80% of vets are women”
It's not just doctors and nurses. Veterinarians are burning out, too — NPR A spike in pandemic pets is increasing shortages and burnout among veterinarians — a field that already had high rates of su***de. A new mental health initiative offers professional help for free.

WE WILL STILL BE REQUIRING MASKS IN THE CLINIC.
Because we cannot social distance in our exam rooms, The Cat’s Meow Feline Veterinary Clinic will continue to require masks in clinic for the near future. Thanks for your understanding and have a great weekend.
Looks like Yuzu (formerly Dozer, a “feral” kitten brought to the clinic to socialize) found his forever home! Congratulations to you both!

The Cat’s Meow is pleased to introduce our new associate veterinarian Dr. Kelsey Quinn. Come in and meet our new Doc!
Dr. Kelsey Quinn hails from a small town in central California where the only exciting thing was the fact that there was a Sonic burger joint. She went to veterinary school in Tennessee (go Vols!) but always knew she wanted to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest so after graduating in 2014, she packed up her car and moved out here. After an internship in emergency medicine, Dr. Quinn worked at a veterinary dental clinic for 6 years where she learned the amazing benefits of dental care for cats and dogs. After the birth of her super handsome little boy, Dr. Quinn and her husband moved to Spokane to be closer to family. She currently resides in a 1906 fixer upper (So. Much. Work.) with her family, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. She loves camping, reading (the Throne of Glass series will change your life), and hanging out with her amazing family!
Welcome, Dr. Quinn! We are now open to new clients!
Hello. One of my clients has a kitten that needs surgery at WSU for a persistant right aortic arch. It is a surgery that will save this kittens life but without it the kitten will die. WSU estimated up to $9700. I would love to see this kitten survive. Please help if you can.

I think 8 may be taking the “social distancing hairdo/I don’t have to shower today” a bit too far!
RIP sweet Alfred aka Freddy the Mac. We love you and will miss you forever. Go in peace dear friend.
Our sweet Alfred was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. We love him so much and are giving him as much love as he can absorb!

Paws up to the National Weather Service office in La Crosse, Wisconsin for achieving something I never dreamed possible. They worked a cat into a scientific explanation of the weather. BRAVO!
