There's only 11 days until our big fall Comunity Outreach event at Beck's Harvest House 🎉. Traffic can be pretty crazy in Greenbluff this time of the year so be sure to plan accordinly. There are no more parking passes but I still have wristbands for each type 1 child. As always everyone is invited to the Community Outreach events.
Join us Sunday, October 9th at Beck's Harvest House in Greenbluff for an afternoon of crafts, snacks and fun in their Famous Friendly Farm Funland. 9919 E Greenbluff Rd, Colbert WA 99005. 2:15pm-5pm
There are a couple of important details about this event. Parking reservations are required to park onsite. Beck's Harvest House donated some parking passes and graciously donated use of their party house which is located right next to the Family Friendly Farm Funland in a giant tent. We will meet in the tent for snacks and crafts for the kids. After snacks and fun with the kids, we can move to their Family Friendly Farm Funland a giant corn maze, jumping pillow, cow train and much, much more.
It is very important to note that each person entering this area is required to have a wristband, even if you are just an adult watching your child have fun.
Please RSVP ASAP to Shelly "Stitches" Blomgren via email [email protected]. The first 9 people who RSVP will be provided with a parking pass. I will also make sure that each type 1 child has a bracelet at the event.

Our TWIGS Story
TWIGS (Together We Inspire Greatness & Support) was founded in 2016 as a summer day camp for children ages 6-8 years old who’ve been diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. Offered as an introduction to diabetes camp life, TWIGS is the only day camp of it's kind in the Inland Northwest. 2018 marks our 3rd annual year and 2nd consecutive at Camp Dart-Lo, located just north of Spokane, WA. Our first two years were overwhelming successful and we're excited to continue to build and grow over the coming years!
Since it’s beginning, Camp TWIGS has been dedicated to offering quality diabetes education and support to campers and parents within the local diabetes community. Many of our campers are newly diagnosed and we place an emphasis on welcoming them and their families to our local T1D network. In 2017 we welcomed 39 campers, over 50 volunteer staff members and have been able to have a 1-to-1 camper-to-counselor ratio in each of our first two years.
This year's 2018 Camp TWIGS is tentatively scheduled for August 3rd-5th and camper registration will begin in May. In the meantime please visit the Camp STIX (our parent organization) website at www.campstix.org for more information or contact us directly at [email protected]. Thanks!
