Spokane Civic Theatre, founded in 1947, is an award-winning nonprofit community theatre. Chew, and the 334-seat Margot and Robert Ogden Main Stage.

Spokane Civic Theatre, which initially operated out of a number of historical downtown Spokane venues, including the Post Theater and Riverside Playhouse, is a fundamental part of the arts community in the Inland Northwest and a fixture in downtown Spokane’s North Bank area. Announcing the cast of CAROUSEL, Civic’s 77th season-opening production. Thank you to all who auditioned.

In May 1873, a bustling carnival enlivens a small fishing village on the rocky New England coastline. Charming but troubled Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan, a quiet girl who works in the mill, fall in love, marry and have a stormy relationship that leads to tragedy and an attempt at mending old wounds from beyond the grave.

Songs include "June is Busting Out All Over," "If I Loved You,” "You'll Never Walk Alone,” and more.

The first Civic Class production of the summer, THE LITTLE PRINCE, performed by students ages 12 – 19, is now playing - July 27!

When a plane crashes in the Sahara Desert, the Aviator encounters a Little Prince from another planet who shares incredible tales of intergalactic travels. As the stories of the Rose, the Fox and the Snake unfold, the characters reveal invaluable insights about loneliness and friendship, loss and love. For it is only with the heart that one can see rightly and what is essential is invisible to the eye.

The 34th Playwrights’ Forum Festival is this weekend!

Spokane Civic Theatre’s celebrated Bryan Harnetiaux Playwrights’ Forum Festival is designed to promote the art of playwriting and to serve Northwest playwrights selected to be showcased in the Festival. The festival is performed in two separate sets on alternating days. In honor of his unflinching dedication and innumerable contributions, the Festival has been named after Bryan Harnetiaux, Civic's resident playwright since 1982, and a principal catalyst in establishing the Festival.

Based on T. S. Eliot’s "Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats," the show is set amongst a larger-than-life junkyard playground and is alive with our favorite feline characters including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Old Deuteronomy, Grizabella, and Skimbleshanks.

The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year — the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.

When a plane crashes in the Sahara Desert, the Aviator encounters a Little Prince from another planet who shares incredible tales of intergalactic travels.
