Spokane Tree of Sharing
The Tree of Sharing ensures our "often forgotten" community members receive a holiday gift each year.
As we wrap up the 2023 Tree of Sharing Season, we want to say thank you to our various Community Partners, who worked with their network of employees and supporters to help fill gift tag requests and keep our transportation and warehouse volunteers on their toes! Your commitment and support helps us achieve our goal of spreading holiday cheer to those in our community who need it most.
The success of the Tree of Sharing would not be possible without the generous support of our Community Partners, who are local businesses, groups and other community leaders who work directly with the Tree to help spread holiday cheer by selecting gift requests to be filled by their employees, customers, and members. If you would like to learn how to become a Community Partner during the next Tree of Sharing season, please contact Nikki Penna at [email protected].
Today's the day!
A fun flashback to when this lil kid recognized the Tree of Sharing Board President on the news! "That looks like daddy!"
Thank you to our wonderful transportation and warehouse volunteers for ensuring that all Tree of Sharing gifts make it safely to our warehouse and are processed for distribution to our agency partners. The success of the Tree of Sharing would not be possible without your time and effort! More pictures to come, including the amazing work done by our Community Partners.
A big thank you to our Transportation Sponsor, Moveher, our volunteer Transportation Coordinators, Dave Weber and Helen Black, and your helpful elves (aka Gonzaga University students) for everything you've done this year! And thank you to our volunteers from Riverside School District for your help in the warehouse!
As we go into the last few days of the 2023 Tree of Sharing Season, we need help in filling the remaining gift requests for our 0-10 year old age group! Please visit treeofsharing.org or our table at any of the three local malls to select a tag and help bring some much needed holiday magic to our youngest kiddos. The requests include clothing, winter gear (hats, gloves, snow pants), books, puzzles, toys and games. If you're short on time, please consider donating at treeofsharing.org where the money goes directly towards fulfilling remaining gift requests. And please share, share, share, so we can spread the word and get these tags done!
When you support the Tree of Sharing, you are supporting more than 40 local social service agencies providing assistance to more than 6,000 people in and around the Spokane community. Throughout our campaign this year, we will be highlighting each of the agencies represented, to help put a face to each and every tag on the Tree. When you select a tag online or at one of our tables, you can choose a gift request for the Pioneer Center East by looking for tag numbers that begin with the prefix 66. Please remember to share our posts as it truly does take a village to spread holiday cheer!
All gifts need to be returned to any of our three locations by December 10! Please remember that all gifts need to be unwrapped and be labeled with the appropriate tag number(s). While the deadline is coming up in just six days, there are still MANY gift tags still remaining on the tree. Tags will be available to select and fulfill through December 10.
With so many tags remaining on the Tree, we need all the help we can get to help achieve our goal of providing holiday gifts to the often-forgotten throughout our community. Please share this post with your family and friends and ask them to Tag a Tag - Give a Gift- Spark Joy!
We love to see acts of generosity and kindness become family activities. Many thanks to the kiddos who stopped by our table at the Spokane Valley Mall this weekend to return gifts for the Tree of Sharing!
Among the many gift requests remaining on the Tree of Sharing are those for gift cards. You can view and select gift requests online at www.treeofsharing.org and at any of our three mall locations. Gift cards can be in any amount! You can also drop off gift cards at our mall tables and ask our teams of volunteer elves to assign them to an open request. The deadline to return gifts to any mall table is Sunday, December 10!
