We're happy to be able to present a custom fire helmet and 9/11 stairclimb shirts to several people at the Bank of America Center!

We appreciate the multiple times they've allowed us to host firefighter stairclimb charity events using the building's staircases, as well as that they allow firefighters to come in and run their staircases for exercise 24/7!

Thank you for supporting local Spokane area firefighters and we hope you enjoyed the gifts.

Spokane firefighters need more participants for 9/11 stair climb charity event 08/31/2021

Registration is open to any member of the public!

Participants will be asked to perform an individual climb or workout to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters killed on 9/11. Examples could be climbing 110 floors on a stairmill, climbing the equivalent of 110 stories on a local outdoor staircase (2,200 stairs), hiking a hill, or performing a circuit/CrossFit workout. These are suggested options, but ultimately do whatever you feel is meaningful to you.

For your $30 registration fee, you’ll receive an event T-Shirt as well as a name badge of one FDNY firefighter killed on 9/11 to dedicate your climb or workout to. Both of these can be shipped.

Registration website: https://nfff.akaraisin.com/ui/spokane

Spokane firefighters need more participants for 9/11 stair climb charity event Normally, the event is done in a large group but because of the increase COVID-19 activity they’re asking participants to perform an individual climb.

08/28/2021

Event Update:

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has thrown a wrench in our plans. Due to rising delta variant cases locally, and in the best interest of both our participants and the public, we’ve decided to change the format of our memorial stairclimb to avoid assembling together as a large group.

These are suggested options, and ultimately each participant should do whatever they personally feel is meaningful as their tribute.

This change to an individual format has also opened another opportunity: Registration for this charity event is now open to any member of the public! We'd love to fill all 343 spots of this charity event, and welcome anyone that wants to participate.

Registration: https://nfff.akaraisin.com/ui/spokane

Regardless of the changes we're committed to honoring the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11, and this event will be happening in one form or another.

Thank you and please contact us with any questions.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. On that fateful morning in 2001, two commercial airplanes were intentionally flown into the 60th and 80th floors of the World Trade Center’s 110-story north and south towers. 343 FDNY firefighters perished coming to the rescue of their fellow citizens.

COVID-19 Update:

Event organizers have been in regular contact with the Spokane Regional Health District concerning local COVID-19 cases. We’ll be following all local health guidance for the event, including if we need to change the event’s format. Currently we're still scheduled for the Bank of America Center in the hopes that local delta variant cases go down.

In the event that we’re no longer able to hold the climb at the Bank of America Center on September 11th, in its place participating firefighters will be asked to perform an individual climb or workout to honor the fallen FDNY firefighter assigned to them. Examples could be climbing 110 floors on a stairmill, hiking a hill, or performing a CrossFit workout.

All monies raised will still benefit the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation. Each participant will still receive an event T-Shirt and be individually assigned an FDNY firefighter killed on 9/11 to dedicate their climb to.

Regardless of the challenges presented to us, this event will be proceeding in one format or another. Adapt & overcome is a motto at the heart of the fire service, and we made a pledge to Never Forget 9/11 and the 343 firefighters who lost their lives that day.

Thank you and please contact us with any questions.
