Spotlight on Payton Reinbott: Eutectics softball athlete and pharmacy student 🥎🩺
Payton Reinbott is an outstanding athlete and a dedicated pharmacy student who is balancing the demands of her academic journey and her passion for softball.
🏫 Choosing UHSP
Growing up in a small town in Southeast Missouri, Payton always knew about the pharmacy programs in the state like what UHSP offered, but the chance to play softball while pursuing her degree at sealed the deal over other options where she would not be able to play. "When I visited the campus, I fell in love with the close-knit atmosphere and the supportive community."
🥼Why Pharmacy?
Payton's passion for pharmacy was inspired by her sister, a pharmacist, and her own childhood health struggles. "I always wanted to do something in healthcare. As a child with severe asthma and allergies, I had great doctors, nurses, and pharmacists who found the right treatment plan for me. That experience showed me the significant impact pharmacists have on patient health, which drew me to the field."
👩⚕️ Campus Life and Involvement
Besides softball, Payton is active in various organizations. She is a member of the UHSP chapter of the professional pharmacy fraternity, Kappa Epsilon and serves as a resident advisor. She is also involved with the American Red Cross as a leadership scholar, a role which gives her the opportunity to host blood drives on campus. "The community here at UHSP is incredibly supportive. People genuinely want to see you succeed."
