Our Spartans in Spain visited Toledo, Granada, and Seville this weekend and are making their way to Barcelona. They've visited many historical landmarks, including Toledo Cathedral, Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens, the Plaza de Espana. They also took a Flamenco dancing class and stepped into the bullfighting ring as matadors for the day. Olé!

Our Spartans are seeing the sights, sampling AND cooking the cuisine, and soaking up the vibrant culture of Madrid, the first stop on their tour of Spain. Their sightseeing tour included visits to Plaza Colon, Plaza de Espana, and the Royal Palace. Next up: Granada.

Enjoy this adventure, Spartans!

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we pray for the gift of our mothers or other women in our lives who serve as a mother figure for us.

Heavenly Father, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of mothers. In their love, we see a reflection of your own unconditional love for us.

Bless them, Lord, with strength and wisdom as they navigate the challenges of motherhood.

Grant them patience in moments of frustration, understanding in times of confusion, and joy amid their sacrifices. Help them to find balance in their lives, to prioritize what truly matters, and to trust in your divine plan for their families.

May they feel your presence beside them in their daily struggles and triumphs, and may they always know that their efforts are seen and valued by you. We entrust all mothers into your loving hands, knowing that you will guide and protect them each step of the way. Amen.

"Service to those with needs is not just an act of kindness; it's a transformative experience that enriches both the Spartan in you and people to work for." Coach Josh Klein '97 opened our day of service by reminding the Spartans that our greatest aspiration is for them to serve the world as men for others.

Freshmen packed 44,440 meals for Feed the Hunger in 2 hours, sophomores welcomed buddies for a weather-shortened Special Olympics, and juniors supported it all as setup and cleanup crews.

Congratulations, Class of 2025, for completing your Junior Service Projects today. Nearly every Monday since September, our juniors have spent their afternoons serving in the local community – at retirement communities, hospitals, schools, and not-for-profit agencies. We dedicate a school year to this important service experience so our Spartans can build relationships with the people they meet and see the long-term impact of their contributions.

Well done, Spartans!
