STOW — Interim Fire Chief Barry Evers and Police Chief Michael Sallese report that the man pulled from Lake Boon this morning has died.
Frederick Dusseault, 70, of Stow was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead this afternoon.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Stow Police and Fire received a call reporting that a man had fallen into Lake Boon. First responders were updated while en route to the scene that the man was no longer able to be seen above the water.
Upon arrival, responders located Dusseault in the water, who was being assisted by a bystander. Police and fire personnel helped the bystander pull Dusseault from the water and began administering CPR.
Dusseault was transported by Patriot Ambulance to a local hospital.
No further information is available at this time.

Upon arrival, responders located the man in the water, who was being assisted by a bystander. Police and fire personnel helped the bystander to pull the 70-year-old Stow man from the water and began administering CPR.
The man was transported by Patriot Ambulance to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown.
A response from the Massachusetts Fire District 14 Dive Team was requested to assist, but was released once the man was pulled from the water.
As of 6:20 State Road is open. Cross St is still closed.

Gleasondale Road (and surrounding areas) has been reopened. Thank you to Hudson Light and Power and Stow Highway Department for all your hard work!
Update: Traffic is being detoured to utilize Sudbury Road. We anticipate these repairs will take the majority of the day.
During last night’s storm, it was tree vs power lines. HLP and our highway department are hard at work replacing the poles and repairing the roadways. Unfortunately, this means that Cross Street, Boon Road at Gleasondale Road, and Gleasondale at Whitman will be closed while the repairs are being done.
We are excited to partner with Stow Fire Department for this!
On Wednesday 7/17 between 6 and 9pm there will be a low helicopter in the area of the Fire Station. This helicopter is part of a training. If using the Marble Hill Conservation area during this time please use caution while crossing the field.

Recently, there have been a few drowning incidents though out the state. We wanted to take the time to remind everyone of some water safety tips.
The Stow Police Department is excited to announce that we will be participating in National Night Out for the first time!!! Please join us at Town Center Park (next to Grace of God Tabernacle Church) on Tuesday, August 6th from 5:30PM-8:30PM. We will have a dunk tank, potato sack races, water balloon tosses, yard games, egg races and kickball. A one-day course at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy will include some loud noises on our Stow campus on Tuesday, 6/25/24. Four explosions may be audible in surrounding communities at some point between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. The sound is no cause for alarm.
