We have received inquiries about residents in town receiving calls for donations for the fire department. The Stow Fire Department, Stow Professional Firefighters Local 3262 and the Stow Firefighters Association are NOT using a solicitation service to ask residents for donations.
Any phone call you receive from the Stow Fire Department will come from the fire station (978-897-4537).

STOW — Interim Fire Chief Barry Evers and Police Chief Michael Sallese report that the man pulled from Lake Boon this morning has died.
Frederick Dusseault, 70, of Stow was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead this afternoon.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Stow Police and Fire received a call reporting that a man had fallen into Lake Boon. First responders were updated while en route to the scene that the man was no longer able to be seen above the water.
Upon arrival, responders located Dusseault in the water, who was being assisted by a bystander. Police and fire personnel helped the bystander pull Dusseault from the water and began administering CPR.
Dusseault was transported by Patriot Ambulance to a local hospital.
No further information is available at this time.

The man was transported by Patriot Ambulance to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown.
A response from the Massachusetts Fire District 14 Dive Team was requested to assist, but was released once the man was pulled from the water.

August is Family Fun Month and Happiness Happens Month - enjoy the rest of your summer!
Each year on August 7, our nation recognizes the men and women who are known as our Purple Heart recipients. The Purple Heart, one of the oldest military decorations, is presented to service members who were injured or killed in service to our country.
National Night Out is tonight at Town Center Park - rain or shine!
Tomorrow night!!! The event will be held rain or shine and we can’t wait to see everyone there!
Activities are free, and include potato sack races, kickball games, yard games, water balloon tosses and egg races. Attendees also will have the chance to dunk a member of the Police Department in the dunk tank.
The Stow Fire Department will be on hand. As will Bolton Police Department’s SRO McCarthy and Community Resource K9 Denny!!!
Food vendors (for purchase) include Off the Hook Bar and Grill and Juniper Farms Ice Cream.
