Attention Stow Veterans . . . this month’s Veterans Social will be held at the American Heritage Museum. The Museum is closed to the public on Tuesday, so this opportunity allows our veterans a quiet opportunity to tour the museum which includes a vast collection of tanks, armored vehicles, and military artifacts from World War I through the battlefields of today. We hope you can attend!

STOW MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & CEREMONIES
2pm May 27
Stow will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, 2024 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The Parade will form on Hartley Road at the back entrance to Center School.
The march to Brookside Cemetery will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.
All veterans, including active duty and reserve personnel from Stow and surrounding communities, are urged to participate by marching in the parade.
Wreath-laying ceremonies will be held at both Brookside Cemetery and the Veterans' Memorial at Common Road.
Music provided by the NRHS Marching Band and Stow Minutemen.
The Stow Fire Department is providing the Color Guard.
For those unable to attend, we ask that you observe the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00pm.
Thank you in advance for your participation as we remember our fallen veterans from all wars.

Hi everyone, just a reminder we will be at Brookside Cemetery on Saturday at 11am to lay wreaths on the graves of our veterans. We have over 300 wreaths and would love to have residents and veterans help us. Thanks to all who donated a wreath and looking forward to seeing everyone.

Stow’s Annual Memorial Day Parade departs promptly at 2 p.m. today (Monday, May 29) from Hartley Road (between Center and Hale Schools). The parade makes its way to Brookside Cemetery for a ceremony that includes the reading of the Town veterans’ names. Before the parade, the Stow Minutemen, Troop 1 Stow and the Girl Scouts refresh the flags at these graves for the the coming year. And State Rep. Kate Hogan will offer her remarks. The parade then proceeds to its final stop at the War Monument at the Randall Library for another brief ceremony. The Memorial Day ceremony has become a time-honored tradition, and all residents are welcome to attend and honor out veterans.

This month’s Veterans Social (co-hosted with the Stow Council on Aging) will take place at the American Heritage Museum (568 Main Street, Hudson). Stow Veterans will be able to tour the new Vietnam Prisoner of War Exhibit with the reconstruction of the original “Hanoi Hilton” cells. This event is free for Stow Veterans but space is limited and you must register in advance with the Stow COA. STOW VETERANS DAY TAKE OUT LUNCH RECOGNIZING LOCAL VETERANS
To honor our veterans in Stow, the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley is providing a prepacked lunch and a chance to meet town and state officials. Veterans and their spouses must RSVP in advance and select sandwich type. They will stay in their car, and we will bring the bag lunch to them.
