Dave Misner, a telemetry tech on ICU was recognized for his commitment to teaching a new graduate nurse in the ICU. Dave has well over a decade of experience and is a subject matter expert in reading rhythms. Dave has taken the time to teach cardiac rhythms in depth to this ICU nurse which ultimately allows for providing better care for our Veterans. His ability to forge meaningful connections with Veterans and their families underscores his unwavering commitment to their well-being. Larry recently went above and beyond to help coordinate with other departments and providers to facilitate immediate assistance to a Veteran who was struggling with a drainage catheter, alleviating both the patient’s distress and his families worries. We had the great pleasure of spending time with Mr. William (Curly) Vaughn Sr. today. Mr. Vaughn is a WWII Veteran that served in France with the 9th Infantry Division where he was wounded twice. After the war, Mr. Vaughn went on to become the country music fiddle player known as Curly Vaughn. On July 30th Mr. Vaughn will turn 102 years old.

Effective tomorrow July 17, 2024, and until further notice, all staff that park in the VA garage on all tours, will be required to park in the Syracuse University Lots (Raynor, Henry and Standart Lots). To promote safety of the area Syracuse VA Police will coordinate with Syracuse University DPS to provide increased patrols of the SU parking lots.
