Metro Tacoma fencers traveled to Columbus, OH to compete in the biggest fencing tournament in the US — The National Championships and July Challenge, also known as Summer Nationals. Over 6,200 fencers from all over the world came to compete! Our fencers competed in foil and epee; in Y14, Cadet, and Junior; and in Div I, IA, II, and III.
Kudos to Arush (Div II MF), Benjamin (Div IA MF), Cristian (Junior MF), Ephraim (Div II ME), Gabriel (Div I MF), Harrison (Cadet MF & Div II MF), Jackson (Div IA MF), Coach Toby (Vet 50 ME), and Yeongbin (Div II ME) for their top 64 and above finishes! A special congratulations to Gabriel on his silver in Cadet MF, Harrison on 9th place in Div III MF, and Yeongbin on 15th place in Div III ME!!
And a BIG THANK YOU to our coaches, Coach Chung, Coach Kim, and Coach Toby, and to all our parents for supporting our awesome fencers!

Metro Tacoma Fencing Club is at the Summer National Championship in Columbus, Ohio! A HUGE congratulations to Gabriel for winning the SILVER medal in Cadet Men’s Foil!! After fencing SEVEN incredible DEs he finally fell 14-15 against his former Asian Sensations teammate Riccardo (Silicon Valley Fencing Center). Big thank you to Coach Chung and Coach Kim, and also to everyone in Region I who came to support Gabriel!!
A HUGE thank you to all the families that came to our club spring cleaning! Walls were scrubbed, benches were washed, lockers and cubbies were moved, EVERYTHING was re-organized. And a special congrats to Joe who won the $100 Leon Paul gift card raffle!

Our MTFC youth fencers competed this past weekend at the Portland RYC and totally rocked it! Alexander, Caleb (Seoheul), Joseph and Lula competed in foil; Elisha (Yeryung), Garrett, Gloria, and Subin fenced epee. Congratulations to all our young fencers who competed and medaled…and a special congrats to Caleb who double medaled in Y12 (7th place) and Y14 (6th) men’s foil!
