One of our Professors, Dr. David Martinez, recently worked with the Heard Museum to develop a land acknowledgment that was approved by both the museum and the Four Southern Tribes. It is always important to acknowledge the land that many institutions occupy the ancestral home to many indigenous peoples whose care and keeping of these lands allows us to be here today.
You can read about the land acknowledgment’s development in their member magazine Earthsong and find the full land acknowledgment in the museum’s Home Gallery and on their website.
