Sonoran Serenity Spa was founded in March 2014 by owner Kiera Stroup in one small treatment room in Downtown Tempe. After leaving a 27 year corporate IT career in 2013, she decided to completely change direction and moved to Arizona to begin school to become an esthetician and massage therapist. The business began with a vision to create a spa that focused on treating the entire person – face, body and soul. As that vision began to take shape, she decided that her long-term goal was to establish a day spa and wellness center that was unique in its offerings and inclusive to all. In addition, as not just an owner, but a working practitioner herself, her motto was to never ask her staff to do something she wouldn’t personally do. That has translated into a work environment that honors the practitioner, as well as the client, by giving a generous buffer time in between clients so adequate time is able to be spent reviewing client intake information and time to turn the room before the next service. As a result, the client receives their full time on the table and prevents practitioner burnout.
