“In recent years, fraud has become a costly financial crime committed by scammers,” Kansas State Treasurer Steven Johnson said. “We are excited to partner with Kansas banks to share this information, helping our citizens stay in control of their finances.”
People targeted by these types of scams should try to look for a number of red flags. Those could be odd grammar or misspellings, suspicious senders, scare tactics, or unexpected attachments. You should never click on anything in the messages, or reply with any personal information.
