White Oak Village at Tryon

Residents of White Oak enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Bullington Gardens, walking through the stunning gardens showcasing Dalia's, Luffa's, and numerous other plants and trees. Following this, they stopped by Grandad's Apple farm for tasty donuts, slushies, and apples, having a wonderful time learning, laughing, and bonding with each other.

Residents of White Oak marked the end of summer with an ice cream party, attended by several family members in town for the Labor Day holiday.

White Oak residents indulged in a lovely high tea at The Book and Bee Cafe and Tea in Hendersonville, savoring the pleasure of each other's company and creating cherished memories.

Bob Bessell spent many happy years at White Oak of Tryon Independent Living. Hospice care made it possible for him to remain there until his death. His family are donating the contents of his apartment to the residents and staff of White Oak. The family asks that in exchange you make a donation to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. The sale will be in Apartment 105 on Monday, August 26th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.

The White Oak of Tryon ladies started their day with a scrumptious breakfast at Trade Street Diner. The lively atmosphere and appetizing food elevated their morning, fostering an enriching experience for all. As they departed, each lady felt invigorated and refreshed, ready to embrace the day ahead.

The White Oak Shake Shack exceeded expectations, with staff working hard to keep up with the demand for the delicious shakes. The Tipsy Peach Shake proved to be the most popular among the residents.

Yesterday, Bob Bessell, a vibrant soul with an age-defying spirit, commemorated his 103rd trip around the sun with his nearest and dearest. In the spirit of paying it forward, today he delighted the Dietary staff with a captivating bouquet and witty note that only Mr. Bessell would write. Happy Birthday, Mr. Bessell!

White Oak residents had a 4th of July 🇺🇸 cookout on the patio, savoring a specialty cocktail 🍹 , hamburgers 🍔 , hotdogs 🌭 , and apple pie 🥧 with vanilla 🍨. They enjoyed music, singing, and dancing in each other's company on a lovely day ☀️.

Residents of White Oak enjoyed a concert by Shohei Toyoda, a guitarist and singer from Japan. He travels to the United States annually and includes Tryon in his tour. Don Silsbe sponsors Shohei's visit and performed a song today! We eagerly await next year's performance!

Residents of White Oak enjoyed a trip to Strawberry Hill today for their renowned ice cream and to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from their farmers market. We eagerly await the next visit!

White Oak residents began their day with a mouthwatering picnic and concluded it with a serene boat ride on Lake Lure, receiving insightful commentary on the lake's past from the captain. A must-do for anyone in the area.

The White Oak community kicked off the summer season with a delightful Watermelon Social, which took place on the first full day of summer. The event offered the perfect opportunity for residents to come together and enjoy each other's company while savoring delicious watermelon slices. As a special treat, a few bold individuals opted to try the 'spiked' watermelon, which added a touch of excitement to the occasion. The background music played throughout the event helped to create a joyful and welcoming atmosphere, making the Watermelon Social a memorable start to the summer season.

White Oak of Tryon residents Rosemary Pleune and Marion Lores recently celebrated their birthdays in June with a festive gathering filled with tasty milkshakes and dear friends! Rosemary turned 103 years young, while Marion reached the impressive milestone of 99 years of age. Their love of life and those around them is evident in their smiles and laughter, making them both an inspiration to all who know them.

Today was a perfect day to roll out the Tiki Bar on the patio and serve Adult Slushies, and everyone had an amazing time trying the various flavors that the staff created. The atmosphere was lively and the drinks were refreshing, making it a memorable experience for all. Until next time...

The homemade ice cream from Strawberry Hill was the perfect treat for the special day, and everyone in attendance had a wonderful time. Residents of White Oak gathered at Inman Roadhouse yesterday evening to indulge in their delectable crab leg special. The atmosphere was lively, and everyone relished each other's company while savoring the delicious meal. Anticipation for the next gathering filled the air as they bid each other farewell.

Residents of White Oak are eagerly anticipating the upcoming events in June, particularly the activities that will take place on our picturesque patio, which offers a serene and inviting atmosphere for socializing and enjoying the outdoors.

Residents of White Oak indulged in a leisurely afternoon of wine tasting and taking in the breathtaking scenery at Mountain Brook Vineyards. They also relished the opportunity to reconnect with one another, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

We had an incredible second day of our spring trip, exploring the breathtaking Atlanta Botanical Gardens which featured a fascinating 'Alice In Wonderland' exhibit, followed by a captivating visit to the High Museum of Art. We capped off the day with a mouth-watering dinner at Clutch, and concluded the evening with lively discussions about the highlights of our adventures thus far, at the hotel.
