Did you know that by the time a child is 3 they can reproduce songs their parents sing to them? By this age, kids are more fluent in song than speech. Music is a great way to enhance language skills! One fun way to incorporate music is by singing songs with your child during walks or when you’re doing chores together.

With summer in full swing, you're likely eager to spend more time outdoors. Help your family enjoy the sunshine safely by taking a few simple precautions to avoid harmful effects from too much sun exposure.

• Timing Matters: Limit your time in the sun between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., when UV rays are strongest.
• Protect the Little Ones: Keep babies under 6 months old out of direct sunlight.
• Seek Shade: Find a cool spot under a tree, use an umbrella, or cover your stroller with a canopy.

The transition to kindergarten can be difficult and some kids may struggle with feeling “good enough” at doing a lot of new things. Remind your child that kindergarten is all about trying new things and working to get better at old things. Talk to your child about past successes and how proud you are of them.
