What an amazing learning community present at the February 2024 A More Excellent Way Health Breastfeeding peer counselor training!
Congratulations to the graduates of the February 2024 More Excellent Way Health Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training with Black IBCLC trainers Dr Monique Sims, Allana Samuel, Donita Rose, Ericka Moore and Brandi Gates-Burgess! 156 people registered from all over the United States and Italy to learn how to provide education and support to birthing people to assist them on their human milk feeding journey. This was an amazing and diverse class of doulas, parents, community members, social workers, WIC staff, nurses and more! Special thanks to Chanel Shows for providing excellent technical support to ensure the class ran smoothly and enhanced the virtual learning experience with Zoom bells and whistles like mentimeters.
This was an outstanding conference! It was well organized and had a variety of topics of interest, like IGT, Human Feeding Equity, Social Media and HIV & BF. I learned so much and I'm so glad I can continue to watch the presentations until April! Great job Jasmine Marquez and the entire Summit Team. I will definitely be using the things I learned in practice and plan to attend next year!
Exercise is a straight forward way to improve mood and support good mental and physical health. Dancing is one of the most beneficial activities and it is enjoyable! Take advantage of this fun and free small group by participating regularly Tuesdays from 6-7:30 pm! It is also a great opportunity to connect with believers.
Time for the Annual California Breastfeeding Summit. I love this conference to meet other breastfeeding advocates and sharpen my breastfeeding support skills!
