At the recent Tri-County MADD Awards Ceremony, we congratulate the Ventura CHP Officers who received a MADD Award for their outstanding efforts in removing impaired drivers from the roads. A special acknowledgment to CHP Officer Rangel for receiving the “Century Award” (109 DUI arrests in 2023) and Explorer Ryan Alton for receiving the “Power of Youth Award.”

Rylee Fitzpatrick is 16 years old, 5’2”, 120lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Rylee is a Ventura resident and was last seen wearing a black jacket and oversized jeans.

Nicholas Waller is 15 years old, 6’1”, 143lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Nicholas is a Santa Paula resident and his last last known clothing is unknown.

Rylee and Nicholas are likely traveling together between Ventura County and San Francisco. San Francisco PD has already been notified.

CHP Ventura welcomes our newest transfers - Lieutenant Zane and Officer Frazier. In addition, we also welcome our newest dispatcher, Edica Paz, who took her Oath of Allegiance on her first day with the CHP.

On the June 28th, the CHP Ventura Area partnered with the Oxnard Police Department to conduct a joint DUI checkpoint. During the operation, over 1,000 vehicles were screened, leading to 4 DUI arrests. Additionally, more than a dozen citations were issued to unlicensed drivers, and several vehicles were impounded. We extend our gratitude to all the law enforcement personnel involved for their dedication to ensuring the safety of Ventura County residents.

On June 17th the Oxnard Council Knights of Columbus held its annual Public Safety Night Award Ceremony for first responders. The California Highway Patrol Ventura Area congratulates Officer Rangel who was honored as Officer of the Year for his outstanding work, including 109 DUI arrests last year. ROLLOVER CRASH TRAPS TWO PEOPLE SATURDAY MORNING IN VENTURA:

At 5:51am on Saturday morning, June 1 of 2024, a vehicle crash call was dispatched for the city of Ventura in the area of the north bound 101 Freeway near the interchange with the 126. The CHP - Ventura, Ventura Fire Department, and ARM and Gold Coast paramedics were dispatched.

Responding authorities were told the crash involved entrapment, and the response was dispatched for a heavy rescue. CHP had reported per their website that a blue Kia SUV had struck the guard rail and overturned. The vehicle was blocking the number one lane.

Arriving authorities confirmed that two people were trapped inside the SUV. An additional ambulance had been requested. Extrication operations began.

A short amount of time later, both people had been rescued. They were both being transported to the hospital. Information on their condition and cause of the crash was not available.

CHP Ventura Office was handling the crash investigation.

On May 23rd, Ventura County’s law enforcement agencies were united for the 2024 Peace Officer’s Memorial Ceremony at the Ventura County Government Center. Together we honored the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Community members, local leaders, and law enforcement gathered to remember and pay tribute to these fallen heroes. It was a moving ceremony, offering us all a chance to express our gratitude to the peace officers who serve our community with unwavering dedication every day.
