Wailehua Jiu Jitsu Academy
Some people build batting cages for their sons/daughters to be future baseball players...I built a d Training Center - PRIVATELY OWNED
When you’ve learned how to follow, it’s given you the path and ability towards being a leader. Baba, camp counselor at Iridium wrestling camp.
The number might change but the name on the front (Kamehameha) and back (Wailehua 🤫) will always remain the same. Always Hawaiian, Moose Monstah represents the bloodline 🔹
Jiu Jitsu compliments track. Flexibility helps get over the hurdles and perseverance provides the mindset to compete when it gets tough.
Hula and Jiu Jitsu grappling goes hand in hand. Both arts are very similar in a variety of aspects. Something the Wailehua dojo truly appreciates, students who participate in both arts 🙏🏽
Home for Christmas 🎄 2023. Dusting off the Cobb webs.
Long overdue. Black belt Mark Bonilla and myself awarded Baba his blue belt at graduation. Also student Jake Ruane was there for the special night.
Congratulations to our first student practitioner and mentor of the dojo Traven “Baba” Wailehua for receiving his high-school diploma. Graduate of KAMEHAMEHA Schools Kapalama Class of 2023.

I cannot put into words what jiu jitsu has done for my son. From 4 years old he has put on a Gi and stepped foot on the tatami. The transition to wrestling was quite easy with the BJJ background as both sports complement each other. On November 9th he signed and committed to wrestle for San Francisco State under the tutelage of coach Jason Welch, a 3x D1 NCAA All American. Proud moment for me but I owe a lot to our time doing BJJ on the mat. Countless hours has paid off and next Fall he will be a freshman student athlete in college. Truly blessed 🙏🏽
Jiu Jitsu classes had ended since Covid. My days rolling around have been retired temporarily due to a refocus to pursue my second goal, coach football and give back to the Princess Pauahi. I’ve used my same philosophy from jiu jitsu to the gridiron: perseverance, hard work, don’t give up, and practice like a champion. It’s been years on the mat but the skills never stopped just put on hold and actually flourished thru football. When it’s time to go back, I’ll make sure to give back my knowledge again but I have a new calling and the WAILEHUA keiki needs their dad as daddy been helping everyone while the family was out on hold. “Family is First” has been the dojo motto, plenty time to roll. Parents don’t forget your keiki 🙏🏽

Jiu Jitsu is the greatest supplement to any sport. The skills and characteristics acquired, learned and instilled are beneficial for growth in sports. Football is one of those sports that jiu jitsu compliments. Makes an all-star in the future.
Putting all the disciplines together. When a dream becomes reality.
The reason the academy was so successful, leading by example. I was and remain to be a visual mentor for parents. A father figure example. Happy Father’s Day.
