Whatʻs something you are really bad at? rope climbing
What is your favorite past time activity besides CrossFit? swimming at Waimea Bay during the summer when it is flat
What is your go to place to eat on Oahu? It depends, if I want salad and protein I like Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ in Kapolei the prices are very reasonable, if I want just ribs then it’s Dickie Grill but I only eat the ribs.
Describe your perfect Day? I start my day with prayers, then facetime with my granddaughter, then Crossfit, then beach with a family nice swim and a healthy but tasty dinner. Sharing spiritual conversations with like minded people.
Whatʻs something most people donʻt know about you? That I have been married twice, Frank is my second marriage and we got it right this time, he’s my best friend.
Do you watch any professional sports, if yes who and what sport? no,
Whatʻs a movie you could watch every single day? Forrest Grump

Saturday we had the pleasure of having Dr. Kyle Womack show up how to better our squat. All done through testing, movements and retest.
We will be seeing Dr. Womack back at the box Aug 29th. You will be able to book a spot with him. Stay tuned for more info coming soon
Saturday we did our first community CPR class with the Hawai’i fire department.
Mahalo to Firefighter 3 Alika Nalua’i, at the HFD CPR section. For taking the time to teach us these important skills, and knowledge of how it plays a role in our community and Ohana.
Some of the key take aways:
⛑️ Save Lives: CPR can significantly increase the chances of survival for someone experiencing cardiac arrest by maintaining blood circulation and oxygenation until medical help arrives.
⛑️ Immediate Response: Knowing CPR allows you to act quickly in emergencies, providing vital support before professional medical assistance arrives.
⛑️ Confidence in Emergencies: Training in CPR gives you the confidence to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, which can make a crucial difference in outcomes.
⛑️ Improved Public Health: A community with more people trained in CPR has a better chance of responding effectively to sudden cardiac emergencies, thereby improving overall public health outcomes.
Knowledge of AED Use: instruction on using Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which are crucial for restoring heart rhythm in cardiac arrest.
Overall, learning CPR is a valuable skill that not only prepares you to respond effectively in emergencies but also contributes positively to the health and safety of the community.
We look forward to our next class and it’s our hope to get more of the community involved to learn these important and vital tools.

At any point in your life, the state of your health exist, somewhere on a continuum that runs from sickness to wellness to fitness.
Sickness presents a scenario where health markers demonstrate a pathway towards disease and low functional competence. When combined with functional capacity, wellness represents sound health markers and shows progression towards fitness. Fitness, or super wellness, demonstrate optimal, health markers, and a high-level of functional capacity. Markers towards fitness provide a long-term buffer against sickness, disease, and decrepitude.
The CrossFit, stimulus of constantly buried, functional movements, executed a high intensity, coupled with eating mostly whole, unprocessed foods and quantities that support active and not excessive body fat, provides a great margin of protection against the ravages of time and disease.
Fitness is and should be a state of “super-wellness.“ Sickness, wellness, and fitness measures the same entity : your health.
A fitness regimen that does not support health is not CrossFit.

We are super excited to announce our CrossFit Waipi’o team competing in the 2024 as they race around the island.
The Oahu Pentathlon is an experience in teamwork and endurance to circumnavigate the island of Oahu. Where passable by road, water and trail, this event will carry you through the iconic blue waters of Kailua Bay, past Chinaman’s Hat, through the popular surf line of North Shore, around Ka’ena Point, through hotspot Waikiki, around Diamond Head and Kokohead above Hanauma Bay, up the Makapu’u lighthouse and around the beauty of Waimanalo Beach - you get to see it all at a pace that meets the “Aloha” of the island. 24 hours to complete this event.
Swim: (2 miles)
Run: (16 miles)
Paddle: (12 miles)
Bike: Skylar (95 miles total)
Ruck: (10 miles)
This is all going down August 3rd. More info to come at the box as the time get closer.
