What happens when you are in a group children (ages 8-15 when the project started - now 10-17) and state a goal that everyone agrees on? “Finish the course at ISR17 safely.” Well, if you have amazing leadership, like Paola Addamiano-Carts and her husband Marty, you have incredibly smart and dedicated kids like we have in Kids Into Discovering Science - KIDS, and you are surrounded by the love and support of the phenomenal folks at International Submarine Races, and the generous spirits of the other 18 teams … you meet your goal and exceed EVERY expectation.
Mr. Kaleb Talkington piloted a heroic run today and we came in first in our classification as the last contestants. The Naval Sea Systems Command divers were incredible. The week was amazing and the kids were tenacious.
Set goals. Meet goals. Think like kids!
has been an amazing success so far! We passed dry and wet inspection on the first pass each, made the presentation to the judges, and are ready for our first attempt at the course tomorrow! A heck of a rain storm changed plans a bit, but what is rain to submariners? The International Submarine Races are going great!! Thanks so much to all of the judges and other teams for their support and encouragement!!
Today our team passed Dry Land Inspection. Tomorrow in water! Great job to all the kids in !!
