The annual Shakespeare's Birthday Lecture returned to the Folger stage for the first time since 2019. Folger Institute Director Patricia Akhimie's lecture took us inside her process as she edits a new edition of "Othello" for the Arden Shakespeare and explored the ways that editing choices, such as omission and correction, can produce and perpetuate racial stereotypes.
