What’s up with these “Early Bird Tickets”?

Glad you asked. We have not made an announcement like this since we raised the prices from $10 to $15 in 2013. So it’s been a while. However, inflation is a real thing, and we do think after eleven years we can raise it and still be the most affordable theatre in town. There is a new law in California (that kind of affects the whole country) which says anything for sale on the internet must make all service fees part of the price. So our ticket platform (SimpleTix) would say that our $17.50 tickets are $19.98.

We find that . . . aesthetically unsightly. We have decided to set the price at $20, and we will just eat the fees on each ticket.

Our low prices are one of the reasons we exist. It has always been important to us that the access to the arts be really really affordable — which is why we put it in the mission statement.

Just wanted to let ya know.
