Emory Fellowship: A United Methodist Congregation

Leading people to WHOLE lives. We worship on Sundays at 10:00 am in-person! REAL = Relevant. Enthusiatic. Authentic. Loving. WHOLE = Well physically.

Real Church for Real People

Vision Statement: We are a REAL church where radical hospitality leads people to WHOLE lives. Like Jesus, we invest our time, giftedness and resources in doing justice, showing kindness and walking humbly with God. Healed emotionally. Obedient spiritually. Loved unconditionally. Life lessons. They bless us mightily — particularly in the right seasons and at the right times. Thank God for them. In this season of wonder, of possibility, of anxiety, and even stress, Jesus in his farewell discourse leaves us life lessons that can and will bless us even in this moment of time and history. Please journey with us deeper into the gospel of John over these next eight weeks as we thank God and praise God for lessons that will last a lifetime.

Maintaining confidentialities is critical to the development, care and growth of deep, long-lasting relationships. Knowing that one can keep our confidences removes the threat of betrayal, division, shame, and the energy necessary to rebuild relationships. But it requires work. Work that can produce good fruit.

Your encouragement today: work to maintain confidences, honor confidences, and build healthy relationships! (Proverbs 25:9-10) !

8 Daily Prayers over 8 Weeks. 🙏🏽 An important time of opportunities and challenges calls for our congregation to enter into a deep season of prayer together. Join us in prayer.

1️⃣ Lord, please move upon us to daily invite people to a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ, and may our spirit of invitation be so strong, that it pours over into our congregation experiencing at least 10 guests per Sunday (Matthew 28:16-20).

2️⃣ Jesus, please work within us to intentionally raise up fresh, new leadership to support existing leadership in every area of ministry within Emory (Luke 6:12-16).

3️⃣ Lord, please work within us particularly to raise up leaders who will support and strengthen our children’s and youth ministries (Matthew 19:14).

4️⃣ Jesus, by the power of your Holy Spirit, we petition you to heal and deliver each and every one of us and our family members experiencing illness, anxiety, and undue stress, and that we would have the courage to testify about how you did it (Luke 8:40-56).

5️⃣ Lord, position us profoundly to increase and expand our capacity to end hunger and eradicate poverty in our community through feeding people, housing people affordably, and any other means you deem necessary (Mark 6:30-44).

6️⃣ Jesus, please open every door for our Calvary Place affordable housing project to be built and to bless people in need (Jeremiah 29:4-7)

7️⃣ Jesus, we petition you to open every door needed for us to resolve our Beacon Center debt, so that we owe no one anything but love (Romans 13:8).

8️⃣ Jesus, we pray that you would mightily and miraculously perform signs and wonders in our midst daily, and that Divine awe overtake our congregation and community (Acts 2:43).

We thank you for joining us in this special and holy endeavor – 8 prayers daily for the next 8 weeks as a part of your regular prayer routine. We look forward to seeing, hearing and experiencing the miracles our God will perform for God's glory!

God desires God’s righteousness to flourish in each of us. May we lift away those things and people who hinder this from happening and simply let God have God’s way.

Your encouragement today: remove the obstacles to God’s blessing, and watch God flourish in and around us! (Proverbs 25:4-5) !

Take care of the outside work first, and then build the inside. One equips one for the other. One provides a foundation for the other. Both require our intimate attention.

Your encouragement today: handle your external business, then build your personal foundation. And, let them feed each other. (Proverbs 24:27) !
