What’s missing from this RNC pundit panel?
Night after night, it’s marginalizing to see Latinos consistently excluded from political panels discussing the 2024 Republican National Committee’s Convention. Executive producers must improve by actively diversifying viewpoints on issues affecting all Americans. The absence of Latino voices in these discussions harms all voters, especially considering the substantial influence of the Latino voting bloc.
In this pivotal election year, amidst considerable uncertainty, it is crucial to broaden the spectrum of viewpoints to authentically represent the perspectives of America’s diverse cultures, ethnicities, and races.
NHFA has diligently advocated for the recognition of Latino journalists and the amplification of their voices. We urge major news networks to persist in their efforts towards parity.

audiences are propelling films to new heights domestically and internationally - like Inside Out 2, which passed $1 billion at the global box office and opened in the U.S. to the biggest launch since last summer's Barbie. The Hollywood Reporter credits diverse audiences for helping the film achieve this feat, with Latinos making up 38% of the audience in the U.S. Studies show that our community watches movies in theaters more than other groups, especially family-friendly stories, demonstrating that Hollywood studios must give Latino filmmakers a seat at the table if they want to build an audience and see success.
This tragic story is not unique - racism against Latinos and all immigrants is on the rise. NHFA is committed to stamping out hate, which is why pushing back against hateful tropes in the media is more vital than ever. We must ensure Latino representation shows the full dimension of our community’s U.S. contributions that should dispel harmful stereotypes.
