In Today’s ’s SEL session, campers were given scenarios around the topic of sportsmanship and they gave us some great answers and suggestions about how we can put our best foot forward, when showing good sportsmanship towards others! 

In our cultural session, we listened to instrumentals from around the world! During this time our campers reflected on the sounds they heard, and the possible origins of the music through their artistic expressions! T**i and Roman had some great photos they wanted to share!

We had a great first day of today! Our campers brushed up on their lacrosse basics with catching, and passing in the morning, and some cradling in dodging in the afternoon!

In our small SEL groups we discussed Self-Awareness and what it means to be a Good Teammate! We later took the discussion and made our own Tree of Strength!

What are great first day! We can’t wait to show you what we’re up to tomorrow!

The Fanning’s, Dad Tom and sons Colin and Owen, recently enjoyed a day on the links at Army Navy Country Club.  The Fann’s were high bidders for the outing on the Member for a Day website.  A big WINNERS thanks to Tom and sons for their support.  After they finished playing, next stop was Pinehurst for the 2024 US Open.

Khaalid Duval Lucus served as a coach and mentor to our WINNERS Lacrosse youth for over 10 years. He was an extraordinary young man and a joy to be around. He loved engaging with our program participants, always eager to take on their challenges in one-on-one games or races. Coach Khaalid was cherished by so many and will be deeply missed.

Congratulations to our WINNERS lacrosse alumni, Hampton University, graduate, Steele Downing!

Steele Downing, a former WINNERS Lacrosse player and recent college graduate, is a prime example of how sports participation can influence young athletes’ futures. As a 2024 Hampton University graduate, Steele earned a BA in Sport Management with a 3.9 GPA and was a member of the National College Athlete Honor Society. Steele started playing lacrosse with WINNERS at age 7 through 14, which set the stage for his athletic and personal endeavors. Steele’s commitment to developing youth athletes truly exemplifies WINNERS’ purpose to —create champions in life through sport. Lastly, Steele would like to thank Matt Breslin, coaches, staff, and the WINNERS organization for instilling in him the values of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership needed to continue on his path to success in the future.

We love to watch our participants grow! Over 90% of parents have reported noticeable positive changes after joining our program! Support Our Cause!
