EDCJCC Resources on Israel - EDCJCC 10/11/2023

As the horrific events of the past few days continue to unfold in Israel, we share a collective sense of shock, outrage, and heartbreak. During difficult times, we find comfort in community.

Tonight, October 11 from 5:30-7:00 PM drop by at any point during our gathering for young professionals.

If you feel grief, anger, terror, devastation, bewilderment, numbness: you are not alone. Join the EntryPointDC community and Director of Jewish Life and Learning Rabbi Atara as we hold each other through this horrible time. We will share, connect, and sit in silence in the company of each other, donuts, and warm beverages. RSVP to Rabbi Atara at [email protected] so she can share with you where to meet in our EDCJCC building in Dupont.

This week, the Edlavitch DCJCC and other community partners will be making space to share our grief and process what is happening. We are sharing below some opportunities happening at the EDCJCC and in the community and will provide updates throughout the week.

On Yom HaShoah, the Edlavitch DCJCC remembers the victims of the Holocaust. May their memories be for a blessing.

Hear from EDCJCC Board Member Al Munzer, who shares his story of survival with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum: "Even when there was so much evil, there were people willing to stand up and do what is right, like the family that saved my life... [who] risked their lives to save a nine-month-old Jewish baby, making it possible many, many years later for that Jewish baby to become a doctor."
