The GW Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in partnership with the ISO will host this brief virtual lecture on general guidance for how current international students can navigate the U.S. immigration system. This lecture will discuss the immigration options available to GW international students as they pursue their entrepreneurial dreams through creating a business or start up.

She obtained her Bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering and in 2020, has worked with an ed tech platform. Mrunalini enjoys socializing and building her network, likes to workout , and enjoys learning tools that enhance her work with communities. Latifa is a senior majoring in Systems Engineering and minoring in Computer Science. She has lived in the DMV area for seven years, where she graduated high school in Falls Church, Virginia. Latifa understands that transitioning to college may be a difficult task, maybe even more so as international student. This, along with her appreciation of different cultures, is why she is interested in helping international students step out of their comfort zone and take advantage of opportunities and resources available to them. In her free time, Latifa enjoys cooking, experimenting with failed baked goods, and watching sit-coms.

Steven is a senior at the GW School of Business studying international business and info system & tech management, minor in communication. He is from Hunan, China. He went to high school in Baltimore, Maryland and was one of the six Chinese students in a big thousand people American school. Steven got to experience the real American high school life and it helped him to blend into the American culture in a more authentic way. Steven considered himself an old DMVer, you can ask him about anything. Steven deeply knows that it is hard for an international student to open up and step out of the comfort zone at the beginning, and that is why he is passionate about helping other international students, especially underclass freshmen, to avoid unnecessary paths and provide thoughtful suggestions and guidances. Evelyn is a first year Master's student in the Applied Economics program at the Columbian College of Arts and Science. She obtained her Bachelor's degree as a Political Scientist and since then, in 2016, has worked with and for the most vulnerable communities in her country, Colombia, to generate greater social impact and input into public policy decisions in the Government. Evelyn enjoys writing about her daily experiences, runs as a way of meditation, and enjoys learning tools that enhance her work with communities. Evelyn is very excited to share her experience as an international student and to be able to guide all students who dare to fulfill their dreams in a country other than their home country.

Gaolin is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As an international student, his favorite part of studying in the US, at GW specifically, is gaining a deep understanding of America and its history and learning about many different people and cultures. He is passionate about being a student ambassador and contribute to the international student community by sharing different perspectives and exchanging experiences with students from all over the world. During his free time, he loves to tour around the city and explore different tea/coffee shops that are great for studying. He also enjoys music, going to concerts (pre-covid) and singing with the GW Vibes.

The International Student Community Ambassadors (ISCAs) serve the entire GW international student population, including undergraduates, graduate students, and scholars. ISCAs supplement the acculturation, engagement, and professional career services provided by the work of the International Services Office (ISO) and GW Center for Career Services.
The ISCAs are international students who are committed to improving the student life experience of all GW international students by facilitating mentorship, acculturation, engagement, and professional development.
