The County of Lake, as Trustee for taxing districts, currently maintains a list of properties that have been acquired through tax sale proceedings. These parcels are mostly vacant land and are offered through the "Greenbook" via a sealed, bid-based auction. Join the Lake County Clerk's Office in celebrating Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! We honor the deep cultural contributions of our AAPI community, while also recognizing the importance of equitable voting rights for all. Historically, federal policy barred immigrants of Asian descent from becoming U.S. citizens and having access to the ballot box until 1952. And it wasn't until the Voting Rights Act was signed into law in 1965 that racial discrimination in voting was finally prohibited. Our office is dedicated to honoring the vibrant diversity within our community at every opportunity, while steadfastly upholding the principle that every voice matters and every vote is significant! Lake County, please be aware that a Party Lottery is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The purpose of this lottery is to determine the order in which political parties will appear on the ballot for the General Election on November 5th, 2024. The event will take place at our office located at 18 North County Street, Room 101, Waukegan, Illinois, and is open to the public.
