We are proud of our snowplow crews - they are the best in the business! Part of the reason they are so good is that training is held before the season really starts, although we had a little snow on Halloween that our seasoned drivers managed. Yesterday, Grey & Associates, a full service safety company, held a classroom session then ran our crews through the paces at our facility. Even though we have a lot of new people on the crews, everyone mastered the classroom training and obstacle course.
LRS carts are being delivered throughout the City, and these deliveries are in the 5th Ward right now. When you receive your carts, pull them back from the curb. Remember to leave your old carts curbside so they can be picked up.
Our crews are making Downtown Waukegan look festive for the upcoming holidays. Kris Kringle Market, Winter Wonder Walk, Tree Lighting, and Photos with Santa are all scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd!
This coming Monday, November 6th, starts the LRS cart delivery. Here's the latest information about the switching out of carts.

Heads up: Julian Street next to the Downtown Waukegan Post Office will be closed off and on for the next two weeks for repairs to the roof of 200 Julian.
Starting tomorrow, November 2nd, Julian St between Genesee St and the entrance to the Post Office will experience closures so that 200 Julian St can have work done on the roof.
This closure is for the crane that will be lifting the supplies to the roof and will last approximately two weeks based on weather.
Alternate routes may be necessary.
It seems we got a trick and not a treat for Halloween this year. A brief burst of snow is expected through at least 10am, leading to slick spots, particularly on bridges and overpasses. Waves of snow showers and squalls are expected through this afternoon, with visibility issues possible. Clear your lights and windows to see and be seen. Drive carefully. Happy Halloween!
