Waukesha County has recovered all of our major systems that were impacted by the global software outage. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we worked through the issue.

911 services have not been impacted and are functioning as normal.

Our neighbors, the Waukesha County Airport/Crites Field, will host a formation flying clinic on Friday and Saturday mid-day with numerous vintage aircraft flying over the area. They will be flying in various tight formations in preparation to go to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh later this weekend, so we will be treated to a mini air show.

The Russians are coming! Russian vintage aircraft that is, as a Red Star formation flying clinic comes to UES Friday and Saturday mid-day to prepare for AirVenture. Come check them out during Food Truck Friday from 11am-1:30pm and through the day. https://www.flyredstar.org/

Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected across southern Wisconsin through this evening. Damaging wind is the primary hazard, but hail and localized heavy rainfall are also possible.

Complex of storms southwest of Eau Claire continue to become more organized and will be the focus of strong to severe weather potential into the evening. The main concern looks to be damaging winds, but some large hail will be possible. Estimated timing to reach Sauk, Columbia, and Marquette, and Green Lake counties is between 6-8 pm.

There is significant potential for severe weather in Waukesha County between 2-5 AM. Make sure you have a way to receive weather warnings during the overnight hours. Avoid relying on outdoor sirens, which are only for tornado warnings and may not be heard indoors. Waukesha County provides a free Emergency Telephone Notification (ETN) alert system that you can subscribe to (link in comments).

4:05 PM Sunday: We're closely monitoring the southeastern corner of the area for increasing severe potential over the next 45-90 minutes. Showers & storms are approaching from northern Illinois, with additional development possible. Severe weather is possible, with damaging winds and large hail being primary concerns. Be prepared to move to shelter if a warning is issued for your area!

Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected tonight. Any stronger storms could produce gusty winds and small hail, along with brief heavy downpours. Additional rainfall after last night's rain can exacerbate any ongoing flooding. The cluster of storms should exit east central WI by midnight. Additional showers and weakening storms along a cold front will move across southern WI Wednesday morning, exiting between 7 and 10 AM.

4:00 PM Monday: Showers & storms are re-developing along/north of a warm front this afternoon. A few strong to severe storms are possible, with large hail, damaging winds, & very heavy rain being the primary concerns. Severe potential is greatest along/south of I-94 & US-18 over the next 45-90 mins. While a secondary threat, an isolated tornado can't be completely ruled out. Have ways to receive warnings through this evening, and never drive through flooded roadways!

Sharing for our friends in Hartland.

We will be conducting increased training flights to include evening flight training Thursday and Friday, May 30 and 31. Area residents may see and/or hear F-35 aircraft flight activity between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Flights will include a low-level flyover of Nixon Park in Hartland, Wisconsin Thursday May 30 as part of the opening ceremony for The Wall That Heals Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica exhibit. Residents of Hartland and surrounding communities can expect to see and/or hear the four-ship formation of F-35 aircraft passing overhead between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m

After a brief lull in activity, strong thunderstorms are beginning to develop to our west, moving northeastward. Highest chances for severe weather are along and south of the I-94 corridor. A cold front will clear these storms out from west to east late this evening.

Last night's storm impacts to Waukesha County seem minimal with mostly reports of some downed trees/large branches and power lines. However, the NWS is looking for any reports of damage from last night's storm if you have them!
