We are so grateful of our supportive here in Waxahachie. Earlier this week, the Waxahachie Police Department Dispatch team brought a supplies donation in support of our upcoming Operation First Day of School – which provides students across the district with free backpacks and school supplies. This year we are excited to add haircuts, family photos, food distribution, and many community resource informational tables to the offerings. Dispatch has been collecting supplies to support the event for well over two months, and it shows! Thank you WPD Dispatch for being the calming voice to those in crisis and helping ensure WISD students receive the items needed to be successful.

Now in the 16th year of existence, the Adopt-a-Class Program is looking to build an even larger community of adopters for the 2024-2025 school year. As we extend this program to include our soon to open elementary school, Jimmie Ray Elementary, this year we will need more adopters than we have ever needed in the history of the program!

Businesses, community partners, and civic organizations of any size are welcomed and encouraged to “adopt” a 3rd grade class to bring their unique personality, skillset, knowledge, and experiences directly to the classroom.

Eight new inductees make up 21st class of SAU Sports Hall of Fame - Southern Arkansas University Athletics MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Department of Athletics has announced that it will add eight new individual members to its Sports Hall of Fame as the 21st class was elected by the Hall's induction committee earlier this summer.

Congratulations to Cole Montfort for earning a spot on the Texas All-State team with his OUTSTANDING performance in Sporting Clays at the SCTP State competition in June. Cole will be representing our team and the entire State of Texas at the National SCTP Championship event held in Marengo, Ohio starting this weekend! Cole is pictured here with our beloved Head Coach, Mr. Roy Edgar. A huge thank you to Coach Roy for his dedication to all our kids and helping them on their road to success. The Lone Star Degree is the highest degree an FFA member may achieve while enrolled in high school and where less than 2% of the organization is awarded each year. ⛳️David Ream Memorial Golf Tournament⛳️

There’s still time to register! The Waxahachie Quarterback Club is still looking for Hole Sponsors and Teams to be a part of the 2024 David Ream Memorial Golf Tournament. It will take place on August 2 at the Old Brickyard Golf Course located at 605 N Interstate Highway 45 in Ferris, Texas.

Coach David Ream was more than a coach. He was a great teacher, mentor, and motivator of all student athletes of WISD. The David Ream Memorial Golf Tournament seeks to continue Coach Ream’s impact towards the lives of the WISD student athletes. The funds that are raised benefit ALL programs, boys and girls.

We look forward to seeing you as we continue our support of all WISD student athletes!
