Itโs gonna be hard to argue with Station 10 A Shift about which crew is the GOAT now. ๐
This poor, lost goat was wandering around downtown and walked straight into the fire engine bay! Thank you for coming so quickly to reunite him with his owner.
After 8 innings of play, the firefighters lost to the cops 19-17, in the annual โCuffs & Axesโ charity softball game. This was a great event for a great cause: raising money for local families in need. After a critical event is recognized by police and/or fire, both agencies will have the ability to donate money for families or individuals to fill an immediate need, like groceries or needed clothing, etc.
Join us next year, as we hope to raise more money andโฆbeat the cops.

Ladder 4 baby!!! The traditional "Push-in" ceremony took place this afternoon, at Station 4. We're excited to have this special piece of equipment serving the citizens of the Wenatchee Valley. Ladder 4 is located at Station 4, on NW Cascade Ave, in East Wenatchee. Stop by and check it out!
Gotta keep em' clean! Washing the rigs is a daily routine for all crews. Among many other reasons, We do this as a symbol of pride and professionalism. Stop by and check them out sometime

If you see these two maniacs working out, and they ask you to join...run away! ๐คฃ๐ฌ๐
Physical fitness is a big part of the job, especially in our Valley. Before the shift is over, you may find yourself hiking a โฐ๏ธ fighting a ๐ฅor swimming in the Columbia/Wenatchee ๐ That's what makes it such a great place to live and work!
Is it true what they say, "the bigger they are, the harder they fall?" Well, that may or may not be true (depends on who you talk too ๐คฃ) But in this case, a fire weakened tree along the Loop Trail proved no challenge for your firefighters. Nice work fellas!
Well...that got spicy ๐ฅ I'm sure there are a lot of great pics and videos of yesterday's Balsam Root fire. But this is what it looks like after more than 24 hours without sleep and non-stop action! Gotta catch those ๐ค when you can. No structures lost โ ๏ธ No injuries โ ๏ธ Wanna support your firefighters? โ ๏ธ Yes on Proposition 1
With fire season upon us, firefighters from the Wenatchee Valley receive assignments to support large fires all throughout the country. Stay safe out there!
**ARFF Training in Helena Montana!**
ARFF = Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting. Firefighters from the Wenatchee Valley traveled to Helena MT. to train in Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting methods in order to support emergency operations at Pangborn Memorial Airport. Just another way members of Local #453 work to prepare for all hazards in the Wenatchee Valley.
Thank you to HighLine Grain for letting our Rope Rescue Team perform several High Angle rescue training scenarios! โ
โ
Yeah...it's fun.
Put it on your calendars and come watch the "Cuffs & Axes" softball tournament between your local firefighters and law enforcement on July 14th!
Your local law enforcement and firefighters witness community members in need everyday. Proceeds from this event will be used to support those that are experiencing a hardship in the very moment they need it most.
Through community support, law enforcement and firefighters will be able to provide financial support in the form of gift cards following a fire or some other significant event. We hope to see you all on 7/14. Come fill the stands and watch some mediocre athletes ๐คฃ๐

On Monday, your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters were dispatched to a citizen stuck in a tree who had been attempting to rescue their kitten. While we donโt regularly rescue cats from trees, this was a special case and both the owner and kitten were brought down safely. If your cat is โstuckโ in a tree, we donโt advise going up after it. Generally once they have calmed down they find their own way back to the ground safely!
Your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters are happy to endorse Soo Ing-Moody as Washington State's 7th Legislative District House of Representatives Candidate. Ing-Moody has a strong track record of collaborative leadership and extensive community involvement.
Soo's past experience as the Mayor of Twisp has placed her in challenging situations, particularly during the devastating wildfires of 2014 and 2015. Her actions were instrumental in marshalling much needed resources to those affected by fire. We support Soo because we're confident that she will stand for policies that foster growth and equal opportunities for all residents of the 7th District.

The future Firefighters of America! ๐๐ง๐ผโ๐๐จ๐ฝโ๐ E12 crew took a little time to show this group of preschoolers some of the tools on their rig. It's always fun hanging with the kiddos.
Mark your calendars and help raise money for community members in need! We hope to see you on 7/14!
Just a little "pre-fire" planning by the crews using the trusted 1 and 3/8" inch Deck Gun tip, flowing 500 gallons of water per minute! E13 & E1 are getting an idea of the reach of their hose stream in the area of Sand Canyon. Knowing our community, the capability of our equipment, and having a plan, are all important elements of the emergency scene.
Your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters would like to congratulate Deputy Chief Kelly Lindemann on his recent retirement!
Kelly started his Fire Service career as a Resident Firefighter for Chelan County Fire District 1 in 1987, where he was soon after hired as a FF/Mechanic in 1988. In 1990 Kelly was hired as a Firefighter with Wenatchee Fire & Rescue, where he has progressed through the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, and Deputy Chief. Kelly was an instrumental leader in the merger of Chelan County Fire District 1 with Wenatchee Fire & Rescue, and ultimately the formation of the Wenatchee Valley Fire Department Regional Fire Authority.
For over 30 years, Kelly has served his Union brothers and sisters through elected union positions, including: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Trustee.
Congratulations DC Lindemann on your well deserved retirement! We wish you the very best. Kelly Lindemann
In addition to a ๐๐๐ ๐ฅon Tuesday, 6/4, your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters continued to respond to the critical needs of our community. This is accomplished through emergency callback (members leaving home and coming back to work), as well as great support from neighboring fire departments!
While the fire unfolded near Batterman Rd, BC1/L10/R10 crew performed a Short Haul rescue, removing an employee from a commercial roof that was experiencing a medical emergency. None of this would be possible without our newly formed Regional Fire Authority, creating the most effective service model for our community.
Please remember to support your firefighters by Voting Yes for Proposition 1 by August 6th โ

If you live in the Wenatchee Valley, you likely witnessed the first significant ๐ฅof the season in the area of Batterman Road, in East Wenatchee. Thanks to the assistance of several outside agencies, as a result of three total alarms ๐๐๐ and the incredible support of ๐, the fire was able to be extinguished! No structures were lost and no injuries reported. The fire was estimated to be over 550 acres. Great job everyone!
Your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters would like to congratulate Deputy Chief Rick McBride on his recent retirement!
Rick started in the fire service in 1982 by volunteering with King County, where he would later be hired as a career firefighter. He moved to the Wenatchee Valley in 1992 after being hired with Wenatchee Fire & Rescue, where he has served this community ever since.
Rick has filled several leadership roles in the fire department, union, and within the community. After 42 years of dedicated service, we wish Rick McBride the very best in his well deserved retirement.
