Second Story Books - Little Free Library # 98486
Second Story books is a little free library located at the corner of Sea and Newton in North Weymouth MA. We hope you will come by and take a book or two.
If you can, please leave a book or two to share with others.
I was book bombed! I love stamps, written words and stickers that show a book has been! I add my own and send it back out on its journey.
Maybe I need to try doing another guest book. I found this note in the library today, if you see this, you are so very welcome.
Thinking someone accidently took the guest book, it's not anything anyone would be able to use for themselves but it has sentimental value to us. If you grabbed it by mistake we would love it to be returned. Thanks so much!
Yesterday I rotated out a ton of books and stocked the library with fresh titles! Come and see!
I call this a shelfie!!!
I just swapped out a ton of books for some different titles. Restocked bookmarks and cards... Come on by!!
My brother is the hardest working man I know and he is always over his head in projects so I feel awful asking him for anything ... but I finally got him to make new doors for the library!! So excited. I still have to stain them but they are on!! It's going to be rainy weather this week, come by and grab a book to read.
My brother is finally building new doors! The entire library was built with wood from a willow tree in his back yard. It was freshly milled which is why it cracked. But we should have new ones this week! There are still books in the library but I probably won't add more until the doors are back on.
Last week sometime someone left 3 books in the library by this author, I am 1/2 way through the 3rd one and have a new favorite author! So if you see this, I just want to say Thank you!
Went out yesterday to find the library stocked full of great titles. Most of them had this signature on the corner of the page. So thank you "R" for sharing these great books!
I absolutely love meeting people who come to the library. Yesterday I had such a great conversation with 2 of the most beautiful woman. We spoke about authors, and the neighborhood. It was good to connect. Today I made a bunch of these awesome book marks to add to the jar for the comic lovers. I will put some out in the morning.
I am sick of waiting for them to finish the sidewalks. The library is OPEN... we moved it against the Newton st side of the fence! Come get books... we miss you!
Someone dropped off a book and it looks like this prayer card had been used as a bookmark. I would love to get it back to its owner. Anyone have an idea who it could be?
Hey everyone, they are doing road work/sidewalk work on the street. When I first asked they said we would not be in the way, today they told us the library had to move so they could redo the sidewalk. So we are closed for hopefully only a few days. Dont worry, we will be back soon. We absolutley love how many people visit.
Thank you so much to all the kind people who helped us today. We received so many books to restock the library. The community really came through. We installed a camera and filled the shelves and we look forward to visitors.
I am so sad. I woke up this morning to see that someone took every single book from the library. They cleaned it out and left the shelves empty. Who does this? Why do this?
So 2 really fun things are in the making .... I am having the library's location designated as a Pokestop. This means there will be virtual pokemon hanging out at the library and people playing the game will seek them out. I am also placing a geocache at our location which is a worldwide treasure hunt game. I was reading out guest book the other day, thank you all so much for your kind words!!!
I have recieved so many donations lately that I have no room for more! This is just some of the overflow inside the house! A friend d brought me a huge collection of hard cover Pattersons! Is there a particular one you are looking for? Oh, and to answer a question asked recently.. you do not ever need to return a book you have taken from the library, but if you have a good one to put in its place I wont complain, but even if you dont please take a book.. or two.. or three.
I just swapped out a ton of books and freshened the selection!! Come on by and grab something to read in the air conditioning before it gets to hot outside!
We recieved a huge donation of kids books today.... looks like alot of choices for kids maybe around 8-10 years old! I cycled a bunch in tonight and have tons more!! Thanks Liz, I know they will be appreciated by lots of little readers!!!
I was speaking with a beautiful woman yesterday who was visiting the library, she said she was a frequent visitor. I asked her what genres she liked. I will be checking my overflow but if anyone has historical stories about brave, strong woman please consider dropping them in the library. Thanks!!
I am so excited about how many visitors the library has had recently!! Just a quick note, The wood used to build the library is from a tree in my brothers yard. Unfortunately because the wood was so fresh the doors have buckled. He will be making new ones soon. For now, just do your best to close them after you visit.
Last night we went to a few other libraries in town and "book bombed" them!! That means we took a whole bunch of our overstock and stocked their shelves! 🙂🙂🙂
We are sooo excited how much traffic our library has been getting. It was overstuffed with books!! We had to take some out to put in the reserve box inside the house!! Makes us so happy that the neighborhood is embracing the library.
Thank you to a fellow reader who dropped off a ton of books today!! I put a couple on my to be read pile!! The library is packed full and people are stopping to find books to take home.
I remember getting in trouble at school as a little girl. The teachers would say “We think it's wonderful that you like to read but you can't do it during math and science.” Ever since I can remember, I loved books. I craved the adventures within the pages. I longed for the places I would visit and the characters I would meet. I still remember them today. I felt so bad for Peter when Fudge ate his turtle. I devoured the “Flowers in the Attic” series. I envied the twins from Sweet Valley and I fell deeply in love with a greaser named
Dallas Winston.
As I grew up I went on many real-life adventures. I met real characters. So rich and vibrant. Many, I thought, should have had their own book written. The stories I could tell would fill endless pages….as with many captivating stories there was an unexpected plot twist in my life. I met the most amazing character of all. On February 24th 2019 Ancestry DNA matched me with an older brother. I had been lied to my entire life and I never knew he existed. He was just as shocked to learn he had a little sister. We missed an entire lifetime of making memories together. Lee & I connected instantly. He became my dearest friend, my protector and he is the most amazing brother I could ask for.
I told him that I had always wanted a little free library and he surprised me on the one year anniversary of discovering each other. He built my gift with his own hands and the help of my 11-year-old nephew. I named it for the second-hand books it will hold and for the discovery of my beloved brother and the adventures that await us as we begin our live's second story.
I hope you enjoy “Second Story Books"
