Pets play a very important role in the life of a homebound older adult, providing critical social connection and enhancing their physical and mental health and well-being -- especially during the holiday season. 🐈🐕🐾
It came to our attention that a number of our clients were sharing their meals with their pets. To keep our clients sufficiently nourished, we created the AniMEALS program.
The AniMEALS Program launched in 2019 and is currently feeding 350 dogs and cats. Any client having difficulty feeding their dog or cat can receive supplemental pet food through this program.
Help our older adults enjoy a full nutritious meal every day without worrying about their furry friends.

For many, the trusted Meals on Wheels volunteer or staff member who shows up regularly with a meal and a smile is the only person they see or speak with all day.
This special delivery is the reason to get up in the morning, something to look forward to, and a reminder to take good care of themselves.

Q: What do I need to get started?
A: Most Meals on Wheels programs begin the process through an application, which may then lead to an assessment of the need for meals and other supportive services. Some programs may additionally require a referral letter from a doctor or social worker.
