Day Two--Attendees learned to host a Safe Sleep Community Baby Shower and were tested on the American Academy of Pediatrics newly revised safe sleep recommendations and how to perform a crib demonstration.
KIDS Network Safe Sleep Instructor Certification Training—Day one.
35 attendees from Kansas, Alabama, and Arizona gathered to learn about safe sleep and how to implement integrative programs within their communities.
The KIDS Network partnered with KU Department of Pediatrics, Kansas Department of Health and Environment—Bureau of Family Health and Safe Kids Kansas, United Methodist Health Ministries and Agency for Health Care Research and Quality.
Dr. Stephanie Kuhlmann, pediatrician, led the group in a World Cafe to address barriers of safe sleep.

Create a safe sleep environment when the temperatures cool down by placing baby in a wearable blanket or other sleeper at nap time and nighttime. Never place a blanket in the crib with baby.
