How was your summer? This one is the last one! Profesora Chio met with our partners from Universidad de Lima. What a pleasure to meet Claudia! Do you know that in all our Spanish conversation classes you have a partner, a native speaker from Peru, to practice?
How was you summer? Sirana Jamkartanian went to DC for a workshop about teaching French in professional settings. If you are interested in French for Business, ask Sirana!
How was your summer? This summer Profesor Dani Fonfria-Perera left for family reasons. Our grad student Jorge de la Hoz went to U. Of Arizona to study his PhD. We miss our two españoles already! Also Dr. Refika Sarionder won't teach German for us because she will be teaching in Psychology. Congratulations Refika!
How was your summer? Professor Navarro worked with three Mexican students of the Delfin Research Program. They went to Nebraska to meet with other Delfines.

Somos Shockers! The First Latine Graduation at WSU. Today we saw so many Spanish minors (including Iris Okere, the president of the Student Government). Here some pics of our students and also of the Herencia program. Some already signed up to study with us. ¡Bienvenidos!
We had an End-of-the-semester Party and we recognized the Academic achievement of our students of French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and German.

Meet a Shocker: Raúl Alejandro Rangel Fernández May 6, 2024 — Raúl Alejandro Rangel Fernández learned how to juggle his commitments and his studies while earning a graduate degree in Spanish.
WSU new mural by Columbian artiat Gleo (with the support of Armando Minjarez) features former and current students of the university. One is Kariana (Nursing major, Spanish minor) who is very close to our faculty. ¡Bravo Kari! Our Spanish faculty were there and helping with the piñatas.
5 de Mayo weekend! We know that 5 de mayo is not the Mexican Inependence Day, but the Battle of Puebla. Our study abroad program is in Puebla so we love 5 de mayo! And we had a great time at Open Streets NoMar. It was great to see the Somos Shockers team.

We had an Inclusive Party / Fiesta Inclusiva last Saturday thanks to our grad student San Juanita. It was a great event with rain and all. Gracias for all the support to all Latine organizations on campus.
Japan Festival was a success! Thanks to all our wonderful students, our community volunteers and our fantastic instructors Jennifer Musaji and Yumi Sensei.
