Thank you to Pete Najera of United Way of the Plains and all those involved in organizing the United Ways of Kansas conference in Wichita. It was an honor for Tanya Bullock of Child Start and me to be invited by Lesley Hazleton of Cox Machine to speak about the critical issue of childcare and the collaborative approach where governments, non-profit organizations, and employers come together to address the challenges we face. By understanding each other's needs, we can create innovative solutions that work for everyone. It takes a community.

Izayah Miller, an 8-year-old player and rising star in League 42, helped me throw out the first pitch at tonight’s Wichita Wind Surge game against the Springfield Cardinals! I’m a supporter of League 42, and I was pleased to have our colleagues from CDM Smith at tonight’s game. The Kansas Water Environment Association’s annual conference is here in Wichita this week, so joining us at tonight’s game were colleagues from City of Wichita- Government’s Public Works & Utilities Department. And the Wind Surge won! ⚾️🎉

Thank you to the National League of Cities for their support during our recent collaboration efforts in Oklahoma City. Representatives from the City of Wichita- Government, Wichita District 2, Child Start, and Workforce Alliance, Inc. had the wonderful opportunity to engage with the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness and Rainbow Fleet Child Care Resource and Referral.

Over the course of two days, we shared ideas, collaborated on innovative solutions, and exchanged data, all in the spirit of advancing early care and education, and workforce solutions. Our hosts were incredibly gracious, making our experience both productive and inspiring.

Thank you once again to the National League of Cities and our Oklahoma partners for their hospitality and dedication to fostering growth and learning in our communities. We look forward to continued collaboration and success.
