Journaling is a great resource for getting through grief. Today we encourage you to take to your journal and do some reflection. If a prompt is helpful, try the following: Describe the people who make up your support systems. How have they been there for you during this time?
Some say “I don’t think we can afford hospice care.” Others say “I don’t want to take charity care away from someone else.” The truth is, hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance. It’s compassionate care that all people should have access to. Let us know if you ever have any questions about hospice or our other programs of care.

Did you know we offer Bereavement Ministry Support? This spring, we trained 8 congregations to enhance their bereavement support programs. 25 clergy and lay leaders participated and will now join our growing alumni group and participate in our quarterly meetings. We love community collaboration and seeing grief support enhanced throughout the community

Have you ever considered a support group to help with the difficult emotional journey of losing a loved one? Our Grief Counselors offer individual sessions and support groups to provide help and hope. There are a number of support groups where you can join others who have had a similar loss. We utilize best practices and in-depth training to improve the quality of life for both patients and caregivers. Getting Unstuck: Help for Complicated Grief is a 2-part series that provides support for complex grief. Sudden losses or traumatic experiences related to a loss can lead to feelings of overwhelm, panic, intrusive images, insomnia, and more. Part 1 provides key information. Fidget Aprons, like the one in this photo, are a great way to help reduce anxiety and nervousness among people living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. At one point, we had some - but we are out.
